New story is better late than never! · 8:32pm Jun 28th, 2012

Here's the cover art. You'll have to take my word for it that the scanner mangled it up and that it looks a lot better in real life... but then again that always happens when watercolours are involved. Also, here's the reference image I used for Twilight, in case anyone gets any false ideas that I'm actually any good at drawing ponies.

Could somepony please buy me a drawing tablet and a copy of Photoshop I would love you forever thank you!

Stay cool everypony

I can't * do PS, but pick out a tablet and get me an e-mail address for a gift card.

Dead serious.

(*Well, won't. I don't like spending money on software.)

Alicorn Twilight? Let's do this.

excited!:pinkiehappy:

Why the fragging buck would you ask for a tablet and Photoshop? :pinkiegasp: You seem to be doing quite well with pencil and watercolors...

No, seriously. I don't mean to make fun, I really think this picture you hand-drew is beautiful. I'm not a graphic expert (shit, I couldn't draw a pony if my life depended on it), but I honestly think that no amount of filtering can give you the same effect as drawing with your own hand and brush. :pinkiesad2:

120477 Wow man, are you really being serious? Because it was just a little joke you know, I could never actually accept a gift like that.

Seriously, I'm flattered beyond belief

120605 Thanks man, that comment made all the time I spent on it worth it! It's just that I like both mediums equally -- in the same way that there's some things digital art can't do that traditional can, there's a whole bunch of stuff you can do on the computer that you simply can't do by hand.

Serious? In a word, yes. My living expenses are few and I've put thousands of dollars worth of time into fanwork so far. (Keep your eyes open; one of the stories you feature is launching a rewrite soon and I'm a contributor.) A few hundred dollars cash every so often is well within my means.

Pick out something under 190 GBP (You're Welsh, yes?) and PM me (I've looked at amazon.co.uk's policies and I can even send you a gift code by PM. Unless you're concerned Knightly might steal it or something.) That should get you a decent new Intuos and I think that's what they use at dhx. Or something second-hand but absolutely top of the line if you can find a good deal.

Strings attached? None.

Well, I am looking for a cover artist for my stories and for a special project this summer (and, yes, I'd like to put together a request and ask you), but that's not why I'm offering. I absolutely loved it when people gave me their old computers, and I've always wanted to be able to do something similar for someone who has talent and needs hardware.

Good things come to those who wait. I hope to see this on EqD!

You don't need Photoshop. Download the GIMP. It's free, and is nearly the same (it doesn't take the same plug-ins, but if you can't afford Photoshop you certainly can't afford Photoshop plug-ins).

I wrote a post on using GIMP, but it's very basic, really so simple as to be misleading.
