    Ten Years of Doctor Perseus

Today marks the tenth anniversary of me creating my account here on FIMFiction. It feels incredibly surreal to type that out. Sometimes it almost feels like yesterday when I was a bright-eyed Brony entering the world of MLP fanfiction for the first time. And sometimes it feels like another lifetime ago.

10 Years After My First Fanfic/My Thoughts on Recent MLP & Doctor Who Content

Hello, everybody! It has certainly been a minute since my last blog post. Like I have said in the past, I am not on here as often as I used to be but I certainly try my best to check on my account whenever I can. In all honesty, I was planning on waiting to write out a blog like this until the tenth anniversary of my FIMFiction account. While I still plan on doing that, I was inspired to write

The 10th Anniversary of Friendship is Magic's Premiere

I know I'm not as active here as I used to be but I felt that I had to at least make a little comment here about Friendship is Magic officially beginning its journey into ten-year status. I can't believe it's been ten years since Friendship is Magic started. Heck, I can't believe it's already been a year since the series ended. Does make me wish that we could have gotten a tenth season in order

What Could Have Been: Doctor Whooves Seasons 3&4

Told ya the wait wouldn't be long. Anyway, here I am to FINALLY close the book on Doctor Whooves once and for all by laying out the rest of what I had planned out for Doctor Whooves. Unlike with Season 2, I'm just going to keep my plans for Seasons 3 and 4 in one blog as I hadn't planned everything out in as much detail as I did the arcs of Season 2. But, still, there is plenty of content to

What Could Have Been: Doctor Whooves Season 2, Arc 3

Yeah...sorry for the long wait on this one. I really have no excuse for taking this long to get around to finally uploading the rest of my plans for what I originally had in store for my Doctor Whooves fanfic series. But I'm here now, for those of you who are still interested in learning about the future I originally had planned for a series I ended well over two years ago. Better being SUPER

What Could a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Movie Be About? · 7:05am Feb 26th, 2014

For a while now, I'm pretty sure more than a fair number of fans have been waiting for the announcement about a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic film. If there's anything that Equestria Girls has shown us, it's that it is possible for MLP to reach the silver screen. Now with almost four seasons and almost two Equestria Girls films, I think the time is ripe for an official MLP: FiM film to start production at the very least. However, what could the film be about? It would definitely have to be something fairly big and worthy of a 75-120 minute run-time. So here's a list of a few possible plots I think an MLP: FiM movie could involve.

A Time Travel Story

No, I'm not suggesting an introduction of Doctor Whooves (because, despite how awesome that would be, we all know that a crossover like that would never happen). Time travel has already been covered lightly in MLP back in the Season 2 episode It's About Time. If an MLP film were to include a time travel plot I would expect it involving the Mane 6 either being sent into the distant future (possibly called upon by their future descendants to help solve a future problem) or into the distant past (most likely something involving Star-Swirl the Bearded).

The Return of Megan, Danny, and Molly Williams

I'm sure a great number of Bronies are against a canon "Human in Equestria" story, especially one involving characters from the first generation. However, I think an MLP: FiM would provide the perfect opportunity to bring G4 updated versions of Megan, Danny, and Molly into the spotlight. If this were to happen, a few things would have to take place in order to make this work properly. Firstly, the three characters would have to be simultaneously updated to 21st century standards while also remaining likable and well-rounded characters. We don't want to see our favorite ponies interacting with three cardboard cutouts for over an hour. Secondly, they would need to have a purpose to serve in the plot. It wouldn't make sense to include them just to have them watch from the sidelines while the Mane 6 solve the problem. And thirdly, there would need to be a believable (by MLP standards, that is) method of them being transported to Equestria.

Alternate Universe/Universe-Hopping

Equestria Girls introduced the concept of alternate universes into the MLP-verse so why not expand upon this further in the future? When it comes to alternate universes, the writers could really come up with anything. The only things that would need to be a definite would be an interesting plot and an explained method of transportation.

The Past is Changed

I think it would be interesting to see a film where something happened to cause the past of the show to change. The obvious past event that would be changed would be Twilight traveling to Ponyville in the first place back in the premiere, which set a chain of events that led to Twilight and the rest of the Mane 6 meeting, finding the Elements of Harmony, and turning Nightmare Moon back into Princess Luna. It would be interesting to see Twilight somehow end up in an alternate timeline where she never moved to Ponyville and met her friends and thus Nightmare Moon rules Equestria. She would then have to find a way to work together with her altered friends and try to find a way to fix the past.

Multiple Species Come Together

A story like this would involve a threat so great that species from all across the Equestrian world (All Ponies, Griffons, Dragons, Donkeys, Mules, Buffalo, Minotaurs, etc.) would have to team up to defeat it. This would most likely involve the Mane 6 working alongside a few members of each species or at least some of the species. It sounds like an interesting premise to me as long as they wouldn't make the movie too overcrowded.

And those are a few possible plots I thought up on the top of my head. What do the rest of you think? Do you like some of my plot suggestions? Do you have some of your own? What would you like to see in a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic film?

I believe that if the story was WORLD threatening and all the species, even the enemies, would band together to at least save themselves from certain destruction.

That kind of story CAN and will Diversify the present Species in the MLP:FiM universe and removing the rough edges of lack of detail/backstory for the species. Changelings anyone? :duck:

Another good story premise can be either Past Altering or Alternate Universe story which will show us another aspect of either the characters we love/hate/like/dislike into a whole new light or a twist of things on how the ponies will strive to go through a situation they might not be familiar with.

I like the "changed past" one the most, especially if they can keep the ponies in awe of ALICORN Twilight, that would be interesting.

I also strongly hope that they are considering a feature length MLP:FIM film. If they do so though, I would actually want them to experiment with the animation a bit and try to blend CGI and their 2D animation. Much like Disney did in their short film "Paperman". You kind of see it also in "Spike At Your Service". That way the movie can be in 3D.

The idea of an Altered Past would be a good way to introduce the characters to audiences previously unfamiliar with them. However, having Twilight team up with alternate versions of her friends to save the day seems like a rehash of Equestria Girls.

Having a movie about time travel or dimension hopping might be cool, but these concepts each only appear once in "It's About Time" and Equestria Girls. I don't think the MLP:FIM movie should solely be about that.

Part of me would like to see G4 versions of Megan, Danny, and Molly Williams, but I feel an MLP:FIM film should remain true to Lauren Faust's original intentions and not include humans. Plus it might be tricky to have them play a significant role without overshadowing the Mane 6.

Multiple species coming together might be interesting in a Lord of the Rings kind of way, but I think these species need to introduced more in depth on the show first before they make it into the film.

For me, and MLP:FIM film needs to perfectly encapsulate what MLP:FIM is. I don't know if you're familiar with Futurama, but Futurama's fifth production season consisted of 4 direct to DVD films. And each of these films perfectly encapsulates what Futurama is like to a certain extent. What I'd like to see is like every friend and ally the Mane 6 has ever had join them in facing some epic evil. Almost like the "Day of the Black Sun" and "Sozin's Comet" episodes of Avatar: The Last Airbender. ("Sozin's Comet" was practically a mini-movie anyway.) That would totally be in line with the show's central theme "Friendship is Magic". Also, Lauren Faust would need to be involved. No doubt about it.

Equestria Girls and Rainbow Rocks ARE offical MLP FiM movies:ajbemused:

By "official", I was referring to a film where we'd have the main characters as ponies in Equestria. Yes, the Equestria Girls films feature the pony characters (Twilight and Spike mostly) alongside their human counterparts but they mostly focus on an alternate world from Equestria and on alternate versions of the pony characters (again, aside from Twilight and Spike who travel between both worlds).

Not to mention the fact that both Equestria Girls films merely got limited releases compared to a wide-scale release that an official MLP: FiM film would get (such as the one coming out in 2017).
