So, I've had the 'pleasure' of dealing with my family this month. Get to have dinner with them this weekend. I don't like them, and they don't like me. However, they 'love' me on merit of being family. I play along and pretend to feel the same, but it's a silly concept. Humans mostly all are related to each other, the concept of only recognizing certain relatives based off of convenience and
A sad fact of life is that most people are just plain stupid. It takes a while to figure it out, but by about the tenth time someone asks you how to do basic high school trig in your non-euclidean geometry class it should dawn on you that most people just aren't the sharpest tools in the shed. After all, for someone to be more intelligent than someone else, that must mean that the other person must be less intelligent. Sorry for rambling so much.
I think the issue is that in day to day life, people can get by on a variety of skills.
Which is to say, I can run into people who have poor social skills and can't do basic multiplication, but have great spatial awareness and memory. But of course, in general day to day activities, ya don't really see someone in every possible environment. Just a couple.
In school I was frequently considered borderline retarded. When hanging out at the university, or just out and about, the opposite was generally considered true. The issue of course, is that people who consider me an idiot in school are not likely to choose to be around me outside of it. And vice versa. I often find myself getting along with people who seem rather dull, only to find they they naturally introvert when around lots of people, but are rather bright when in small groups.
1863522 Yeah, but there's a difference between smarts and just hard working. You can be of average (or less) intelligence and still pull through through sheer hard work and determination. I know that's how I passed my classes. What annoys me are the people that are actually quite intelligent, pull straight A's when they barely put in a half-ass effort, and still come to you begging for your answers or advice that turns into begging for answers when you're busy working your ass off. idk, it's just a pet peeve of mine.

Personality versus characteristics and all that.

1863564 I guarantee that curiosity will eventually get the better of you and you'll hunt it down.

Or I'll just make assumptions and be happy with them.
1863580 That is a talent not many people have.

Isn't that the entire basis of religion?
1863603 Or maybe Religion is mankind's way of answering a question that they can't find an answer to and are curious about?
