    Ten Years of Doctor Perseus

Today marks the tenth anniversary of me creating my account here on FIMFiction. It feels incredibly surreal to type that out. Sometimes it almost feels like yesterday when I was a bright-eyed Brony entering the world of MLP fanfiction for the first time. And sometimes it feels like another lifetime ago.

10 Years After My First Fanfic/My Thoughts on Recent MLP & Doctor Who Content

Hello, everybody! It has certainly been a minute since my last blog post. Like I have said in the past, I am not on here as often as I used to be but I certainly try my best to check on my account whenever I can. In all honesty, I was planning on waiting to write out a blog like this until the tenth anniversary of my FIMFiction account. While I still plan on doing that, I was inspired to write

The 10th Anniversary of Friendship is Magic's Premiere

I know I'm not as active here as I used to be but I felt that I had to at least make a little comment here about Friendship is Magic officially beginning its journey into ten-year status. I can't believe it's been ten years since Friendship is Magic started. Heck, I can't believe it's already been a year since the series ended. Does make me wish that we could have gotten a tenth season in order

What Could Have Been: Doctor Whooves Seasons 3&4

Told ya the wait wouldn't be long. Anyway, here I am to FINALLY close the book on Doctor Whooves once and for all by laying out the rest of what I had planned out for Doctor Whooves. Unlike with Season 2, I'm just going to keep my plans for Seasons 3 and 4 in one blog as I hadn't planned everything out in as much detail as I did the arcs of Season 2. But, still, there is plenty of content to

What Could Have Been: Doctor Whooves Season 2, Arc 3

Yeah...sorry for the long wait on this one. I really have no excuse for taking this long to get around to finally uploading the rest of my plans for what I originally had in store for my Doctor Whooves fanfic series. But I'm here now, for those of you who are still interested in learning about the future I originally had planned for a series I ended well over two years ago. Better being SUPER

My Thoughts on the "Equestria Girls 2: Rainbow Rocks" Reveal · 2:20am Feb 14th, 2014

Well...I didn't expect this. So, yeah, we're getting a sequel to My Little Pony: Equestria Girls this fall. My thoughts? Uh...well...let's just see where this goes.

I mean, I really enjoyed the first film despite its flaws here and there but this sequel just looks...weird. I'm going to be fair and hold my judgement until the final product comes about but I'm just unsure about where they're going to go with this. The trailer we got was very short and it gave me a mixed vibe. Firstly, it raises a lot of questions. Where's Sunset Shimmer? She wasn't seen in the trailer. I assume she's going to be in the film. If she doesn't return then it would be a slap in the face to the human Mane 5's promise to Twilight in the last film. Also, Twilight's back. If this is Equestria Twilight then how did she get back to the human world? Is it thirty moons later or something? I don't think so because thirty moons equals around 2.5 years so the students at Canterlot High would have graduated and moved on by that point (the seniors anyway). Maybe this Twilight is the human world's Twilight. In which case this could prove to be interesting. Also, why are the human Mane 6 getting their magical pony-esque forms back? Are they using magic instruments or something? The song used in the trailer was alright. Nothing really special about it. However, on a more positive note, I kinda liked the human Mane 6's "rock star" designs, I liked Vinyl's inclusion in the trailer (it seemed fitting), the animation looks good (like season 4 good), and I liked the touch of introducing the human world's Diamond Dogs. All in all, the trailer's a mixed bag for me. But, hey, the movie's not coming out until the fall and we still have the second half of season 4 to watch. So let's not all get wound up about this, right? ...Right?

I guess the thing that's worrying me the most now is all the backlash this is surely going to receive. Yay. We're gonna get another fandom meltdown. I can see it now. People calling this the worst thing ever, claiming it to be the death of the fandom, flame wars spreading across the Youtube comment sections between those who liked and those who hated the first Equestria Girls, the Equestria Girls haters making long-winded videos exclaiming their new loss of faith in the show's creators, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

In the name of all things holy, can we go at least one year without getting something that's going to cause the fandom to implode?! The fandom already blew up twice last year. Do we need to do it again? But, whatever. Who knows? Maybe this film will be better than the first. Maybe it'll actually turn Flash Sentry into an interesting character. Maybe it'll take an interesting, further look at this human Equestria and expand upon aspects that couldn't be explored in the first film. Or maybe it'll tank and be a cringe-worthy, overly-cliched "battle of the bands" film that'll try to squeeze more money out of the one half of the fandom that actually enjoyed the first movie. Who knows? What do the rest of you think? Are you excited about Equestria Girls 2: Rainbow Rocks, do you hate the idea, or are you somewhere in the middle like me?

i just don't know what to think of this, it could be good or bad, we'll just have to wait and see.

:trixieshiftleft:.....sigh:trixieshiftright:.....I need a bottle of Jameson, maybe two:facehoof:

Now, the first movie was bad, but I find it as a guilty pleasure film. No matter how much I hate it, I can't stop watching it.

This... just...
1832167 I'll take a third. Maybe twelve more.

Just... why...?
The problems I have with the first are:
1) Flash Sentry had absolutely NO F****** PERSONALITY!!!
2) Sunset Shimmer was a cliché bully/antagonist.
2.5) She was defeated in about twenty seconds (F*** it).
3)Hasbro created this just as a marketing ploy.
4) Megan McCarthy should know better than to make... this sh*t! I mean, this show was known for its excellent writing and they wrote a story filled with cliché after f****** cliché.

You know... I am only going to watch this movie to say that I saw it. I mean... GOD!!! All this is is another marketing flob on Hasbro's part. They want to rip off all of the f****** "rock star" Barbie and Bratz sh*t toys that my sister had when she was five!
I'm sorry, but I've almost given up on McCarthy now.

*sighs* Sorry about that rant. I just had to angst.

No need to apologize. I understand your frustrations with EqG. Even as someone who genuinely liked the first film, I'll admit that I'm feeling eh.... about this next one.

The first film felt like an experiment, per say. In the end, whether that experiment was a success or a failure counts on your own perspective. Though I liked EqG, I certainly never expected a sequel. With the cemented divisive reaction it got (both before and after its release) I was sure the showrunners weren't going to go down that road again. But, obviously, it appears I was mistaken. Like I said in the blog, I'm going to give this film a chance like I did with the first and remain cautiously optimistic. If it's good, great. If it's bad, well those who liked EqG still have the first film and the main series and those who hate EqG still have the main series. I'm just hoping this doesn't turn into a "one EqG film a year" type thing. Come on, Hasbro. When will we get our pony movie?! :flutterrage:

I actually made a list of EQGs flaws in my spare time but even knowing them I couldent help but enjoy the movie.
By nature I'm an optimist so I can say that I'm both excited and curious about this movie, I don't have any issues that I'm certain won't be addressed in it and I'm curious to see vinyls and twilights (earth?) roll in the movie

I liked the first Equestria Girls a lot more than most people did I feel. I grew up watching stuff like this so I'm used to the cliches. It's what I've learned to expect from something like this.

For the sequel, I'm actually kind of excited. I'll tell you what I've been telling everyone and what I've said before. The best part of Equestria Girls for me was the "Helping Twilight Win the Crown" sequence from the midpoint of the film. It reminded me a lot of movies like Pitch Perfect, which I enjoyed. Now based on this trailer, it looks like this film will be much more like movies like Pitch Perfect and Bandslam. That makes me interested.

I confused Spike was a dog in the last movie.. So will he be a dragon dog or a dragon man cross because they felt the diamond dogs should be people.

1832351 I've always felt that Equestria Girls was made to test the waters for a feature length My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic film. That's why I felt it was important to the film. If that were the case, I don't see why they need to make another Equestria Girls film, but I don't mind. I will also support it in continued hopes of a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic film.

Now, I'm going to watch the finale of the first season of Avatar: The Last Airbender. I have great taste in shows don't I. Avatar and Equestria Girls. :twilightsheepish:

1832218 ....Damn...maybe you need that drink more than I do.

I mean, I have a part of me that wants to give this a chance and a part that wants to burn Hasbro to the ground. The clichés were just... damn near unforgivable because you'll see them in almost any movie ever made.
I'll try to see it, but the first movie wasn't shown anywhere near where my friends and I lived (they were showing it in Brooklyn, about a hundred miles from me (and that was the nearest showing)), so I'll wait for YouTube videos.

You have absolutely no idea how much I need it.
As a matter of fact, I'll take another twelve...
