Octavia's Reprise - Chapter Five - Author's Note

STOP. FULL SPOILERS FOR Octavia's Reprise - Chapter Five BELOW!

I feel as though Octavia not only conversing with a homeless pony but straight up acting charitable towards him really shows just how rocked her core has become; she’s definitely not the same pony at the start of the story, though I hope the transition into who she is now has so far been believable. I have a second thought on what may have caused her dealing with this stallion, though I’ll have to touch on that more later on.

A brief mention to Fiddlesticks (or “Fiddly Faddle”, if you go by the wiki, which in turn I used for the name of an aunt) gets a mention here. It’s always interesting to see how writers link her and Octavia together. By this point I’ve seen just about everything from distant relation to actually being the same pony, but I decided on the cousin approach here. Thought it would be a fun little mention and help explain some of Octavia’s practice with her doppelganger’s instrument.

I feel like this is sort of the end of an act, though Act One or Act Two I can’t say for sure. All I know is we finally see the girls reunited in the present (in person, anyway (in pony?)). I also really like the cliffhanger here; it just begs the question “what shit is about to go down here?” :)
