There hasn't been a chapter for quite some time. I blame this on finals, but my own laziness is also a factor. Now you're here for the update and so that's what I'll give you. Let's get jiggy with it.
First off, school is getting annoyingly suffocating, what with the large majority of tests and things I have to study for (including a term paper that we just finished last night instead of writing Unmarked -.-). I have three finals, one tomorrow, and the other two next week. After that, I'll be done with school until the Fall semester, which is going to be as awesome as the 25th Anniversery Legend of Zelda CD I'm listening to (pretty awesome). But I digress, that's the dealio for why there's not been an update (Plus you're lazy). Don't mind my little devil's advocate, he's harmless (but charming).
Moving on before I become the former resident of my own mind, I'd like all of you faithful readers to know that come Wednesday of next week, work will begin in earnest on burning through the rest of Unmarked, followed by a short, two month hiatus as I write the sequel (Remarked is what he calls it, but we're still dealing with how bad at title that is). I think it's wonderful (Your jokes are all puns that fall flat). What this means is that you will have to wait until August (yes we know, long wait) until you see more of your precious Novell and Co. Unless...(We're working the details out on having a short few comic segments featuring Quills and the Professor.)
...there goes my dramatic flare. (Don't draw this out any longer than it needs to be). Yes, well, as my erstwhile companion says, we're- I mean, I (you mean we're) am working on a few short comics with Quills and the Professor explaining some of the monsters I feature here in Unmarked, as well as some culture tid bits, should you be interested in them (they aren't). It'll feature some sketches of monsters/culture/items and sketches (sigh) between Quills and the Professor. You know how they love to bicker. But keep in mind, this is all just in the planning stages. Drawing comics is...difficult and time-consuming, but I may end up having to do it myself (oh, the horror). Still, I'm hopeful.
Well, that's all I got for this lovely Thursday. Oh, and as always, if you've got any tips, hints, complaints, concerns, criticisms, or just want to say hi, let me know in the comments (this is on any subject, including Unmarked). Also, if you'd like to be a pre-reader, I always need more free slav- labor (he means slaves).

Those comics sound like the skits at the end on episodes of Bleach where they explain how their world works or bio certain characters and stuff. Is that what you had in mind? (not specifically, but similar to?)

You got it. Though the best comparison would be Eden no Ori's little side comics with Maraiya. It's not too manestream (please kill me) a manga, but it's a nice one.
