What gets people motivated? · 2:41am Jan 25th, 2014
I've all but lost mine at the moment and I need something to pull me out of a rut. Some kind of project... something.
It's been so long since I've actually felt motivated about doing something with passion that I think I've forgotten how it feels. What gets you guys going? What creates the spark... I'd love to know.
I have a lot of energy to give, just no idea where to give it.

Other people's stories. Hard Reset 2 for me in this specific case.
Reading is how I got into writing in the first place, and whenever the creative well runs dry I can always refill it with a few good books. Try it.

My normal circuit involves Breaking Benjamin's 'I will not bow' and 'Diary of Jane', Three Days Grace's 'Animal I have become' and 'Get out alive', Papa Roach's 'Last resort', and some other less heavy ones like Ke$ha's 'Woohoo' and Ashley Tisdale's 'How do you love someone'.

Try helping other writers as an editor or proofreader. It could give you ideas and new directions to go in your own stories that you normally would not have thought of. You could also go with spur of the moment writing by thinking an idea and then writing what ever pops into your head.... no matter what it is just write it and see what comes of your thoughts.
Just some ideas to think about.
