    Ten Years of Doctor Perseus

Today marks the tenth anniversary of me creating my account here on FIMFiction. It feels incredibly surreal to type that out. Sometimes it almost feels like yesterday when I was a bright-eyed Brony entering the world of MLP fanfiction for the first time. And sometimes it feels like another lifetime ago.

10 Years After My First Fanfic/My Thoughts on Recent MLP & Doctor Who Content

Hello, everybody! It has certainly been a minute since my last blog post. Like I have said in the past, I am not on here as often as I used to be but I certainly try my best to check on my account whenever I can. In all honesty, I was planning on waiting to write out a blog like this until the tenth anniversary of my FIMFiction account. While I still plan on doing that, I was inspired to write

The 10th Anniversary of Friendship is Magic's Premiere

I know I'm not as active here as I used to be but I felt that I had to at least make a little comment here about Friendship is Magic officially beginning its journey into ten-year status. I can't believe it's been ten years since Friendship is Magic started. Heck, I can't believe it's already been a year since the series ended. Does make me wish that we could have gotten a tenth season in order

What Could Have Been: Doctor Whooves Seasons 3&4

Told ya the wait wouldn't be long. Anyway, here I am to FINALLY close the book on Doctor Whooves once and for all by laying out the rest of what I had planned out for Doctor Whooves. Unlike with Season 2, I'm just going to keep my plans for Seasons 3 and 4 in one blog as I hadn't planned everything out in as much detail as I did the arcs of Season 2. But, still, there is plenty of content to

What Could Have Been: Doctor Whooves Season 2, Arc 3

Yeah...sorry for the long wait on this one. I really have no excuse for taking this long to get around to finally uploading the rest of my plans for what I originally had in store for my Doctor Whooves fanfic series. But I'm here now, for those of you who are still interested in learning about the future I originally had planned for a series I ended well over two years ago. Better being SUPER

Why is My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic so Perfect for Crossovers? · 11:17pm Jan 24th, 2014

Based on my own personal experiences of exploring the internet, I've come to the conclusion that My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is the most crossed over show of all time. And all I can keep asking myself is how did it come to be so? Why does this show about a land full of technicolor ponies and various magical creatures prove to be such perfect material for fan crossovers? The number of MLP crossover stories and fan art has grown so great that I expect a new "Rule of the Internet" to be created in response to it (Rule P: There's a pony version of it. NO EXCEPTIONS!). There seems to be a pony mash-up for almost everything nowadays. Lord of the Rings?

Yep.
Pokemon?

Yep.
Kingdom Hearts?

Of course.
Assassin's Creed?

Definitely.
And the list just goes on...

and on...

and on.

Now I'm in no way complaining. I love all of the awesome crossover-themed fan art and fanfiction (when done right, anyway)! I just find myself wondering why MLP has just become so prone to crossovers. Even aside from crossovers, this series has proven to be a plethora of fanfiction ideas. I mean, hell, this show has an entire internet site dedicated to fanfiction based off it! So, what has MLP done that other shows, books, etc haven't? How come there's no Harry Potter, Pokemon, Star Wars, or Lord of the Rings fanfiction sites? What has made the world of MLP such a plentiful source of fanfic ideas and opportunities for crossovers? Is it simply the large and diverse fanbase crossing over other franchises they love with this one for the simple pleasure of crossing over their favorite franchises? Is it the flexible canon and non-canon rules of the show that provide wonderful opportunities to let fans' imaginations run wild? Is it simply a fun trend to see various other characters either in pony form or coming in contact with the nature and workings of Equestria? Whatever MLP's done, it's done it right because there appears to be no stopping of the fanfics and crossovers anytime soon.

So what do the rest of you think? What are your thoughts as to how MLP is such a perfect source for crossovers?

Uhuh. Yeah. I can definitely see tha-DEAR GOD NO, PINKIE PIE DRESSED AS TY LEE. THE APOCOLYPSE IS COMING AND IT'S NAME IS PINK LEE!

*cough* Anyways. *slinks into shadows of embarrasment*

Well, I agree that Bronies are already a pretty diverse bunch with diverse interests. I'm surprised you didn't mention more video games. I've noticed that there a lot of Bronies who are into video games. I mean Fallout: Equestria is a subset of MLP fanfiction just as big as Doctor Whooves.

I figure it just has to do with the fans. Anyone could just as easily crossover Pokemon and Bakugan, but who wants to? :twilightsheepish:

Rule P: There's a pony version of it. NO EXCEPTIONS

That rule already exists.

Rule 42
3) If it exist, there is a pony version of it. No exceptions.

Rule 85
1) One of the rules of the internet. If it exists there is a pony of it.
Bob: Must we ponify EVERY MEME?!
Alice: Rule 85 bro.

That rule already exists?! :twilightoops:

...I'm not surprised. :ajbemused::twilightsmile:

You know I recently started watching Avatar: The Last Airbender, and I just got to Season 2 over the last weekend. I finally remembered that picture of Pinkie and realized that it's supposed to be her as Ty Lee! :rainbowlaugh: Now, I totally see it. Ty Lee is so much like Pinkie Pie. :pinkiehappy:
