I have to disagree with you...extremely.
IMO Daring Don't remains to be the worst episode of Season 4 (even though I did enjoy certain aspects of it). I really liked this episode and I didn't see anything confusing about it.
There's a number of goofs in the episode... Lemon Hearts appearing as an alicorn at 5:23, Helia being credited as Blossomforth, and stuff like that, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The Academy continuity was heavily lampshaded (although if Spitfire is always so impressed with Rainbow Dash, why isn't Dash a Wonderbolt yet? Did she flunk the second half of the Academy or something?).
Derpy. Oh, Derpy. I was concerned that they'd do exactly what they did, but they actually made it work without her saying a word other than the usual background group cheering/agreement. Loved every second of her adorable mug on the screen.
I don't think there has been a "bad" episode all season, but I'd agree with
1731588 that Daring Don't came close, and even that one was full of win.
Oh, and watch for Bon Bon and Lyra on the bench in a role reversal!
I wonder what exactly was confusing about it, as the plot was very straightforward and well executed, if a bit obvious. Or perhaps you're just fucking with us.

Beginning of the episode showed the other pegasi were on other event teams. Rainbow probably got lazy and didn't sign up until the last minute, so she was stuck with relay, and had to pressure Fluttershy to join the team so it could compete.

seriously, i'm not seeing how the rainbow sheen thing is explained like you say it is meme. the closest thing i could think of it being explained is that it's a deus ex machina.
also, don't see how with ALL OF THE OTHER WONDERBOLTS THAT WERE POSSIBLY AVAILABLE why they went didn't have one or a few other racers as back up just in case.
side note: doesn't fleet foot kind of sound like tommy from rugrats? she kind of did to me.
Meme didnt like this episode, I love this episode. Big fucking whoop. We all like and dislike different things, people need to shut up and let Meme not like this if he wants to.

And, to add more confusion to this episode, I like to point out something that people may had forgotten: what has happened to Bulk Biceps' flying? Over the course of the episode, he seemed to have a hard time flying with his tiny wings that not only limit his air time, but also how fast he can go. He has been screen flying before where he can perform just as well as any other pegasi.
When you look at "Hurricane Fluttershy", you see him being able to fly with his peers without any difficulty. Below is a small part of the episode where he flies in the background when making the tornado.
True, while it makes him somewhat relatable with Fluttershy for sharing poor flying performances, but you have to consider previous occurrences where he didn't have this condition in the other episode.
Just something to think about.
