Why I think Pinkie really is an Apple... · 8:41pm Jan 11th, 2014
I have only two little pieces of evidence, but they are more than enough for me to believe that Pinkie is genuinely related to the Apple family.
1. Goldy Delicious has curly hair that has a striking resemblence to Pinkie's. Give their manes a quick look when they are side by side, and you will see what I mean.
2. When Goldy Delicious pulled that book out, she took it from the bottom of a precarious, swaying stack that miraculously did not fall over. This is just like how at the beginning of the episode, Pinkie did the same thing with the scroll.
To me, at the very least, these are undeniable proof that their is a connecting point between the Apple and Pie family trees.

I noticed the second point as well. It does seem likely that they are related. After all, since Granny claims to have helped found Ponyville, ponies had to immigrate to Ponyville to make it larger, and members of Pinkie's family could have migrated there.
