STOP. FULL SPOILERS FOR Octavia's Reprise - Chapter Two BELOW!
Laying the cheese on thick with that last line.
I hope the transition to the girls’ shared past wasn’t too jarring; I feel that occasional flashbacks will help shell out some history, add some mystery, and ultimately provide a certain commentary on events happening in the present.
It’s not my intent to have the “Miss Jubilee” mentioned as Octavia’s school teacher to have any relation to Cherry Jubilee from “The Last Roundup”; just a name that came to me, and it kind of stuck.
I just want to go on record as saying that I’m not a big of fan of having Vinyl be an orphan. Her appearance in the official comics with an apparent family member aside, it’s just a heartbreaking thing for a young one to go through. However, I do have my reasons, but I don’t want to say too much before later chapters are added. I think when the story is finished I’ll post a reflection blog about why I made a lot of the choices I did.
Additionally, it’s my sincere hope that no one takes offence to some of the slightly religious tones set by Vinyl’s comments regarding the “home” she grew up in. I do not mean to mock or make light of any religious institution.
