And Another Heistverse Tale Down · 1:01am Jan 10th, 2014
(Note: This is mostly Heistverse news, which is why DitR was tagged.)
So sometime tonight, Merc will be posting the last chapter (or two) of Colder Weather. The story tops out at just under 40K words. Not half bad. Though it's just a side story, a little bit of information taking place between the major events, it was still very fun to write and is a solid product. Make sure you check it out if you haven't.
What's next? Well, we'll have to finish up Big Red. Once that's done, we can start the preparations for Heist 3, which, as I've mentioned before, will be under JJ's jurisdiction. In all honesty, I might play a relatively small role in that story. Merc's Dash and Jack are strong, solid action characters, and the story will be focusing on Chylene and Pinkie. My Rarity and Twila might well take something of a back seat. But that's OK, that's kind of the point really.
In the meantime, on my own side of things, I've got three Heistverse stories I'm planning/working on. One is a background story, just a short little thing. It's going slowly because, though short and unrelated to our Heist plotline, it should be very emotional. So I want to make sure it comes off just right.
Another is a prequel story to the main plotline, and I had that one planned and had even started it. But it'll need to hold off until I catch up with this season's episodes. I should be doing that sometime within the next week or so, I hope. You'll understand why, later. We might not be literal canon, but we still try to incorporate it as best as we can.
The other is, of course, my Twila side story. It will be relatively short, focused more on character and relationship development than anything else. Secondarily, it will be setting up certain things for later plots, at least that's the overall plan.
Also, there are bigger plans to come involving our wonderful Heistverse. Things that might start once Big Red is complete.
As for my non-Heistverse stuff, I've been trying to get back into all that. I want to release something of my own in the upcoming months. Most likely it will be Medley, as I've already got a decent start in that. It's just getting myself back to work on it. It's a new year. It's time I start doing better.
