Tardiness: A Sapphire Cave Title and Rating Discussion · 3:45am Jan 8th, 2014
First, I'm sorry to have been tardy in updating the story's rating to reflect its current chapter. I got distracted.
However, I'd like to invite discussion of two points, if I may, and the latter may require some close reading of Chapter Five, for which I sincerely apologize.
One: I've been thinking about shortening the story title. "The Legend of the Sapphire Cave" doesn't roll off the tongue very well, it's a bit of a mouthful, and honestly, it's just repeating the title of a book Spike found for Twilight, mentioned in the very first chapter, which isn't very creative. The foremost idea rolling around in my head has been just truncating it to "The Sapphire Cave." Yes? No? Something else?
Two: I'm not sure whether I actually needed to change it to Mature, though the sex tag was probably necessary. However, while chapter five is very disturbing, there is no explicit sex, no explicit rape, no explicit... anything else. I'm curious whether the Mature rating is actually merited, though I changed it at first simply to be safe. I'm not particularly strong on the technical points of FiMFiction's tagging system, and Fallout Equestria (among other dark stories) was given the Teen rating, so I don't entirely trust my own judgement on this.

While it wouldn't be rated mature for sex, it contains... very disturbing themes.
Went ahead and read it despite knowing I might regret it. Honestly, since everything is implied, I think you can keep it Teen. I'd keep the long title, too. And I'll put the rest of my thoughts in the fic comments rather than here.
