    Hi.

Been a while, but I'm still floating around now and then. Been thinking about ponystories a lot, and how I have one more in me that I'd REALLY like to write.
Life has been weird, though. I'm now on a horse farm in the horse state, rather than a graveyard-adjacent house in the cheese state. There has been joy and sorrow and, you know, life.

    Also, Commissions For Charity

So right now I’m offering vignettes (roughly 1000-2000 words) as commissions, but instead of paying me you make a donation to charity. Any charity. If you need suggestions, then:

    Charity: Center for Disaster Philanthropy

So okay. Originally I was going to raise money for something closer to home but the barn has secured a grant that makes me less worried about it, and I think my efforts would be better focused here.

    Next Month: Charity Time

So I'm thinking that next month I'd like to run a charity event, but this will be a little different from previous events and I'm trying to figure out how to make it work.

    Happy Hearts and Hooves

In other news, I'm going to be getting a charity thing up and running maybe next month, so that should be exciting. We'll see how it goes, though. The format will be a little different but hopefully it'll be a lot of fun for everyone.

Good News · 1:10am Jan 8th, 2014

I know, I know. I'm not usually the good news type. And honestly, I'm freaking out a little bit here because anxiety issues. But I did promise some news regarding my writing a while back. And here it is.

Valkyrja

Yes, I've had a book published, and it's currently available on Amazon and in a few other places. And I'm pretty sure you can walk into a bookstore and order it. I'm basically hoping to sell enough copies to make sure the sequel will be a worthwhile publishing investment. Which means I have to get a lot better at promotion, which I am no good at.
Yes, this is Brynhild, who some of you will recognize. And there will definitely be elements of my big series in here, but I'll be introducing a lot of new concepts as well, changing up the storylines, and the characters won't strictly be the same. So it means there'll be a lot of fun easter eggs for the people who've actually read some of my work, but still plenty of new material to enjoy.
I will note that Valkyrja is actually older work, too: I can promise that even the next story in line, Daemon, is much improved and will help further flesh out the universe I've got in mind. so I hope that I can share that all with you all in print one day, too, and uh... well. Thank you, all of you. Because your readership helps keep me motivated and I hope I never disappoint with my work. Either way, I do promise to share my stories. More in print, or on Fictionpress or whatnot... and for those more interested in my pony works, there'll be plenty more of that in the future, too.

Dammit! I wish I wasn't broke, or I'd totally order that right now!

Awesome stuff, congrats on the publishing!

1694235

Thanks. I hope when you do get a chance to see it, it proves enjoyable. I've got a whole lot planned for it, so. Now it's all kind of a matter of trying to make that happen.

1694285

Thank you very much. Kind of caught me by surprise, to be honest. I've been sitting here wondering if it was really happening or not until I actually saw it in print myself.

Yes! Take my money, take it!
You have just made my entire year. I actually had to stop myself from breaking a few rules I set for myself about never using all capital letters and using multiple consecutive exclamation points in excitement. I'm more excited about this than the games 'Dark Souls 2' and 'Destiny' being released later this year.
I plan on ordering your book as soon as possible. Hopefully by tomorrows end at the latest.

Congratulations are in order for getting published, and I wish you all the success in the world with this series of yours.

yessssss. just when i was running short of things to do. :pinkiehappy:

That's awesome :D

1694350

Thank you, I really appreciate that. I hope it proves an even better read than my other stories, and it develops into an enjoyable series. However that might take form. The year's just begun, after all. Who knows what might happen from here just yet.
I'm also pretty excited for Destiny, on a side note. Lots of things to look forwards to.

1694352

Thanks very much. I hope it proves a good read.

1694393

Thank you very kindly. Certainly a nice way to start the new year, at least.

And I just finished spending my Christmas gifts today... damn you and your timing!

1694594

I do have a talent for that, yes. But I do hope it proves a pleasure to read when you get the chance.

1694802 Sounds like it will be, too bad "when I get to read it" will probably not be soon seeing as how I don't have a job.

But It sounds interesting at least, so I'll girl it a whirl.

Congratulations! Just picked up a copy for my kindle cant wait to read it.

1695550

Thank you very much. I hope it proves a worthwhile read, and I'm always happy to answer any questions you might have. I appreciate it.

Hurray, all the wait has paied off .

1696687

It does seem that way, yes. Now I'm waiting to see where things will go from here.

This is what happens when you combine talent, too much time, and an unhealthy work ethic.

I'm going to do sick, twisted things to this book.

1697318

Thank you very much. I really just kind of. Hoped for the best with this one and I'm honestly surprised that it all worked out so well.
Also I don't know if that image is more awkward with the paperback or the kindle version. And yet I appreciate it all the same. I hope it proves a pleasure to read, and it'll leave you looking forwards to more in the future.

Ohhh, gonna order me a paperback! Finally get to have one of your works on my top shelf! Jeese, I haven't read from a paperback since I found Moonrise ages ago :pinkiegasp:

1699808

I'm glad to hear it, then and just hope it proves a good read and earns that place. Thank you very much: I can't express how much I appreciate it.

Just finished it!

and I absolutely loved it, especially all the nods to your other work.

and being a big fan of your rendition of pikamina It was great when Red showed up XD

And this line XD
"No. They will know you have assisted me, even if you are a lowly and weak shell-bug."

Its always great to read your work, and I can't wait for more.

Rose it's nice to see published work of yours. Always a massive fan of the saga and well, a little of the new mixed in with the old is never a bad thing.

Can't wait for next pay check to start a new collection :) bring on the next one

1701334

Well, I'm delighted to hear it, thank you. And I'm really happy to hear that Red stood out, too. That's good, because the next story for this hopeful series will actually revolve around her.
Thanks again. I truly do appreciate it.

1703208

Thank you very much. I'm happy to hear it, and I hope it proves just as good a read as the saga has, if not better. I've got quite a few plans for this new series and I want to make sure each story is better than the last.

Ordering paperback.
Your time has come, it's clear. It's time to show the world what you can do.
Get famous, brah :P
btw, in case you don't remember, this is Corpj123 from fanfiction.net

1715150

Thank you very kindly, I really appreciate it. I don't quite know about fame or anything but well... it would certainly be nice to sell enough copies to get more people interested in the sequels being published and stuff.

1715870
No, when I was talking fame I meant like J.K. Rowling level. :P You could do it

The copy of Valkyrja I ordered finally arrived at my place yesterday. I'm only three chapters in and I'm all ready enjoying it more than most things I've read. I find - for me anyway - that your main protagonist is an incredibly relatable character, more so than any character in fiction I've come across thus far.

I'm definitely going to be recommending it to everyone I know.

1803946

I'm really happy to hear. I worry a lot a lot about, well. A lot of things in this book. I had to stick pretty closely to the 80K standard to help make sure someone, somewhere, would bother to look at the damn thing, and since it's the first story in the set and I have that habit of explaining things as I go along, there's a few loose ends here and there I wish I could have tied up better. But hearing you're liking Neil and that he's so relatable is a great relief. Thank you kindly for letting me know.

Finally, the book was delivered. I can't remember last time I bought a book, so I guess this is kind of a holiday for me. Buying-myself-a-book-day, or something like that. I should do this again.

I've promised myself that I'll not read it until I finish Glory Be, so now I'm gonna use all my willpower to not do this. Thankfully, there's only eight chapters left, so I hope I'll start reading the book this weekend.

1829257

Glad to hear it. And i know what you mean. The last book I bought was uh... Island of Dr. Moreau. Usually the most I read these days is when I'm doing beta work for someone or editing.
