Let's try this again. Happy New Years! · 6:13am Jan 1st, 2014
Re-writing this, had a LONG post written, and accidentally closed it it. Sigh. My fault through for trying to write a long post while drunk. I know it’ll be different then what I had originally, as I can’t even remember how I began the original off with...Joys of drunk blogging! This time I got smart, I wrote this all in google docs with the beautiful thing of auto-save!
This year, has been great for me personally. But let’s start off with new years eve, today, as it’s only around 11pm AZ time. Me, my wife, and my roommate spent most of the evening relaxing, good food, and some drinking, though I’ve been drinking the most, sweet Seagrams Sweet Tea Vodka! We’ve been watching netflix, an interesting show called Kyle XY. Thought the third season is a bit, well, insane. First two seasons I recommend, but they really should of stopped there.
I was planning on having a small bbq party with a few friends, but with the holiday being on a weekday, too many people had work, including roommate, so, just me him and my wife, with some awesome grilled pork chops I cooked up. I love grilling so much, it’s my own personal hobby. I even spent over $400 on a combo grill, smoker, charcoal, and gas. So worth it. My friend/co-worker got me the BBQ Bible for christmas. Plan on using it a lot, though I’m the type of cook that likes to experiment with his grilling, not use recipes, but the book gives me some great ideas.
Now what’s in store for 2014? Well, continuing on doing a good job at work. Working at one of the major banks of the world is awesome. Helping merchants with their credit card devices, including recently(with pay raise), their online terminals, is fun, if sometimes frustrating(some people just do not know how to clink links, or open tabs on browsers, or just just unable to operate a computer, at all), but I feel rewarded when thinks work out.
Wife will be continuing her college career, her major is Graphic Design. She has proven who’s the smart one of the our marriage with getting straight A’s in all her classes. Only got 2-3 more semesters till she’s done, and hopefully, as we plan, have our first child. I never wanted to have kids, until I met her, I love her very much.
Vacation wise, sadly will be missing Further Confusion again, but in-laws have expressed interest in taking us on their trip to Thailand. Never been there, never thought of going there, but it seems it’d be interesting to go, to say the least!
Resolutions for 2014? Man, I have a hard time keeping these, but I like to keep trying. First, drop 20-30 pounds. I’m at 191 lbs right now, and I don’t like it, at all. So more working out and eating less! Second, pay off both credit cards(almost done with this thankfully), and hopefully pay off either a loan I pulled out a few years ago, or college loans. Having these paid off will help whenever we have our kid. Third, keep writing Eternal Harmony. I know the few people who has commented and faved it enjoy it, and that’s what has given me the motivation to keep it going, especially from the post of Cloudline Dasher, who’s a great writer, and wonderful artist(Who did my stories art). I know I’ll never meet up with the greats of this fandom, like Pennington Inkwell or Pen Stroke, but I have this story in my head, I feel it’s good enough to write it out and give back to this wonderful fandom. I posted the first chapter(not including the prologue) tonight, not yet edited(which will be reposted once editing is done by my wife), wanting to give a nice little new years gift to those interested in reading my little story.
I thinks that’s all I got right now. I had more, but it got lost, and I can’t think of it right now. I’m surprised I got this much without many typoes. Thank god for google docs spellchecker!
Anyway, Happy New Years everyone! May year 2014 be good to everyone, and may the fandom thrive like it did this year!
