People keep asking for a sequel to "Love Will Tear Us Apart," so here's the pitch:
Chrysalis returns to the Crystal Empire to “retrieve” her long-lost son, Prince Hornet. However, the Prince doesn’t want to go. Although his illegitimacy meant that he was passed over in succession for his half-sister Princess Skyla, he has achieved success and respect as a historian, helping the residents of the Crystal Empire re-discover the past that had been stolen from them by Sombra. Chrysalis is enraged, both that her son rejects her and that he is so unlike her - so calm, so peaceful, so determinedly nonviolent. She tries to show him the advantages of her selfish cruelty, but he refuses, and indeed tries to rescue ponies from Chrysalis, putting himself between her and her target. Enraged, she threatens to take him by force, and to force him to behave like a changeling. Hornet states that he will give himself up if it means rescuing others, but points out that if Chrysalis really loved him like she says she does, she wouldn’t be using force on him to try and turn him into her. Enraged and broken hearted, Chrysalis leaves, vowing to never return to the Crystal Empire. Hornet laments the fact that his mother doesn’t understand, but takes solace in that his “real” parents loved him so much and raised him so well.
