    BUGHORSE NEWS

Yes, I bring good news of Chrysalis story. I have finished the first draft of the next chapter and the editing team has already made a first pass on it. There's still a lot to do to polish it, but I'm hopeful that I can have it up and ready for your hungry eyes in one week. Keep a lookout!

    Life is Snow

No really, this isn't some vague metaphor. My life is literally snow right now. I'm drowning, send help.

    New year, new chapter

Hope everyone is having a great New Year's Eve (or if you're in a part of the world where it's already 2022, hope the new year's been treating you well so far). Good news: the next chapter of Paint the Sky is written, we just need to take it through a few rounds of edits and revisions before I'm ready to post it. It will probably go live at the usual time on Wednesday.

So about that new episode... (spoilers abound) · 10:14pm Dec 7th, 2013

Y'know, the one that just happened to share a name with a certain fic of mine? Yeah, it was a pretty great episode! Of course, I was quite surprised (but not unpleasantly) with the amount of parallels between my story and the episode. It's probably nothing more than coincidence, but imagine my reactions when the episode reveals that:

A) Daring Do herself is the author of the series who bases her books on her own adventures (in my story, she turns out to be a fraud, but details).

B) One of the main conflicts is Rainbow Dash holding Daring Do on a pedestal (they even use that very line!). Of course, that idea is explored much differently than in my story, which is more about hero worship and the dangers of holding someone in such high regard that they can only disappoint you (whereas the episode was more about Rainbow Dash holding her in such high regard that she forgot to do the same for herself).

C) Lastly, the ending: Rainbow Dash becomes an ascended fangirl and gets written into the newest book.

So, how'd you all like the episode, and how does it compare to the fanfic of the same name?

EDIT: Also, both my story and the episode parodied the classic Indiana Jones "draw a red line across a map to indicate traveling a great distance."

The episode was very... Meh. It felt like a filler.
Seriously, the whole lot of 'em watching Daring Do being pummeled by 3 goons. IT PHYSICALLY HURT ME. I'd understand if it was just Fluttershy, but Rainbow and Applejack of all ponies... Ugh. :facehoof:
