Musings of a Wedding Videographer: Going Into the Slow Season

So after a busy wedding season full of repeat clients, old clients friends getting married and booking me, saving the day time and time again with my Mary Poppins Bag, training new videographers, and being asked to take a picture of a bride sitting on the porta-potty, I am now entering into the slow wedding season. Time for a well deserved breather!

    Story Discussion: New Content

I have been getting some really wonderful feedback from someone named LovinLife, and I can’t thank this user enough for the praise and criticism. While his (her?) praises have helped boost my desires to keep writing, his criticism has given me good reason to go back over my work to make it stronger.

    IRL: I Heart GoPro

Boy, do I love staying busy at work! I decided that we need a backlog of GoPro footage to use at work, and have tackled it head on. I have been coming home super tired, which has cut into my writing, but the upside is that this project has been making a big difference at work.

Story Discussion: Smithy the High Diver

So, Applejack just got her key, and we find out that our Granny Smith was once a high diver. While that does mess with my story, it has potential to make things better.

Think about it: a high diving act in a traveling circus is a good cover for smuggling illegal goods. This could make for an interesting development for the Faction of the Stud.

IRL: I'm in a Video at Etrailer.com, and it's Awful!

So I work online helping make product videos. Most of the time, I just edit, but every so often, I shoot videos. Well, I work by the philosophy of 'see a need, fill a need' and we needed to do this video for pad locks. And guess who they stuck in front of the camera.

Story Discussion: New Content Has Begun! · 5:15am Dec 6th, 2013

Hello my wonderful watchers. I just want to say thank you to all of you for your amazing feedback, useful suggestions, and overall amazing support for my story, The Private Scrapbook. It means the world to know that you all are able to give me some very good advice on making a story I am already proud of even better than it was before. I have you, my readers, to thank for this, and for the ideas to expand upon it further.

As some of you may have seen, a new chapter called Go Ahead, I'm Listening was added between the trial and retrial chapters. I always hated how rushed that felt, and decided to put something of a gap between to better understand Smithy's crippling depression. While one reader mentioned suicide being sort of glossed over, it got me to thinking it might be a good idea to do something of a psychological evaluation on out main character. That and the Fraiser reference was fun for me personally. The character of Dr. Fraiser Crane is one of my favorite TV characters of all time.

I have another chapter that I am working on soon concerning Kizzy's decision to return to Zebrica instead of staying in Equestria. I plan to do a quick courthouse wedding chapter where Ponyville chases Smithy and Crab Apple out of town square for ruining the town's slave based economy, going into details about the Griffin War brought on by the economic crash in the slave market, and most importantly the issue of the rushed ending. I plan to show the complicated relationship between the mixed family, and how hard it is for Filthy Rich. I hope to turn him into a sympathetic bad guy by the end of the story, and even go into a little bit on his relationship with Honey Crisp. The reason the last two chapters existed was because of this, but I think preeminent set up will be better than just dumping it all at the end.

Thanks again for all the support, and here's to a better, more fulfilling end!
