I'm moving to Charlottesville! Anypony got a room?

Just a quick post to say that I'm moving into Charlottesville, VA following a job offer, and I'm checking to see if any bronies in the area have an available room to rent. (It's an expensive town, with the most affordable rooms seeming to be off-campus dorms/condos, and if I end up needing to find a roommate I'd prefer a dork along my own interests, you know?) There are UVA bronies, right? Of

    Brony Book Club Podcast

Hey, do you like my stories, but wish you could hear my stuttering, awkward voice as I try to break the world record for the number of "uh's" in a single sentence? No? Well, here it is anyway.

    Dramatic Reading!

Okay, call me Slowpoke since this was posted way back in February, but someone by the name of VozDeSuenos has done a dramatic reading of the first part of Ponies Play D&D!

    A Gift for Poultron

Someone pointed out to me a while ago that FiMfiction Mod Poultron has said some very flattering, but almost certainly inaccurate things about my story, Ponies Play D&D. He and I actually chatted in the Google Docs chat bar back when I posted the very first act of Part 2, before FiMfiction even existed and the fandom was young and... well, mostly just

A Taste of Act 3 · 12:23am Apr 30th, 2012

Okay, it's been some time since my last update, so I wanted to let everyone know I'm still alive and working on Act 3. I hate that I'm basically releasing on Valve time, but Act 3 is a little more... complicated than the previous chapters. To show you what I mean, here's a small sample of Zecora's game:

-Minor Spoilers Below-

Now begins a rousing tale
Of windy shores and crashing sea
Where bonny bands of heroes sail
With merry hearts and jeux d’esprit

Two stalwart allies meet in these
Our epic verse, inaugural
I’ll tell you of them, if you please
Excuse my dire doggerel

Along the coastline, by the bay
A nameless city-state we join
A tiny dot on tiny cay
Where idle sailors spend their coin

We hear a cheerful bardic song
Down by the dock’s marina
She earns her bread the whole day long
A-playing concertina

“What do you do when foes surround
And friends become much colder?
What do you do when solid ground
Begins to smoke and smoulder?

What do you do when you are bound
Between hard place and boulder?
What beauty is there to be found
In the eye of a beholder?”

Though with her talent and her wit
A skillful song she narrates
Her audience, she must admit,
Are a bunch of freaking cheapskates

“At this rate, I’ll go broke!” said she
“And get kicked out of my cabana
But I’ll earn my way adventurously
Or my name’s not Zinnadiana!”

This is just a small part of what I have done already, and I'm not sure how long it's going to take me to finish. Epic poetry requires epic length, and it just seems to keep ballooning as the story develops.

The thing is, I haven't written much poetry before I started this so I've had to kind of teach myself how to do it as I go. The process feels bit like running headfirst into a brick wall over and over again and hoping I leave an aesthetically pleasing dent. Of course, I can't complain, since I started this project to stretch myself creatively, and this stuff has my creativity is doing some pretty advanced yoga.

So, there you go, that's what I've got going. I hope to finish soon and help everyone get through the long episode-free summer. Wish me luck, guys! (Gods know, I need it.)
