Subtitles - Side Project · 9:49pm Apr 23rd, 2012
I promise I'll read through some of the submissions, honest.
This is just a quick update to tell everyone what I'm doing and give away some shameless advertising. I'm making subtitles for all the episodes. Not just any subtitles though, high quality ones. We're talking the works: different colors for when certain characters speak, side notes, everything. It takes about 6 hours to make a subtitle set for one episode though, so it's a slow process. I already finished season 2 episode 1.
They're free for anyone to use as well. Help yourself: Mist Subs
The second part should be completed either tomorrow or later tonight. I plan on doing all the episodes to date. I'm going to do season 2 first though because the demand is higher since that one is newer. If anyone speaks other languages that would be willing to help make multi-language ones too, I'd be interested in them helping.
Weeeeeeeell... I do speak portuguese and a bit of german... but not enough on the latter to make anything readable/understandable.
I also know shit about subtitles and such, but I could help translating everything to portuguese (so others can enjoy the show without the awful dubs getting on the way {I mean- seriously, Maitmore Moon?})
I'm not sure if you're planning on releasing episodes with the subtitles already included (the kind that cannot be turned off) or if you're releasing subtitle files (.str if I'm not mistaken). The only problem with subtitle files though, is that it "depends on the video" you're watching them on.
If they try to run them on a... let's say, 1 second delayed video, the whole subtitle/video would fall apart because of the 1 second lag.
Since ZR's rips on yayponies are the most common (not to mention reliable) Matrotska rips out there, I think that making the subtitles based on them is the best option.
83110 I would be very interested in having you help me translate them into Portuguese considering how many Brazilians I am noticing that watch the show.
They are soft subs (subtitle files), but they are being based upon the ZR rips from yayponies. Also there is a few programs to sync them back up should they become desynced (which I'll make a guide for on the website soon), and they can be converted into hard subs (the kind that can not be turned off).
I use Aegisub to make the subtitles and although it's a tedious process the results are very nice. I aim to make the highest quality subtitles with the greatest accuracy possible.
Message me when you're online and I'll explain a bit more of the process.
