I'm happy to announce that either tonight or tomorrow (likely tonight), I will be posting a reboot (of sorts) of my old story, A Weevil in Manehattan. I have titled this new story 'Citizen Weevil'.
The fanfiction will be a predominately slice-of-life story focusing on the lives of an immigrant Changeling family living in a multi-species district in Manehattan in the future, during a period of mass immigration to Equestria never before in the nation's history. The major differences from the original story will be that the protagonist here is the father, not one of the children and is written in third person instead of first. Through this story, I plan to tackle issues such as immigration, multiculturalism and species-relations, particularly in a setting like Equestria which I assure you is being as kept to the mostly peaceful, tolerant place it is in the show, but having to deal with these realistic issues. So the ponies here are for the most tolerant, but how far that tolerance can go is put to the test with the mass arrival of different species with their own cultures and norms clashing with theirs.
I hope all of those who read the original story and even current readers of Maternal Instinct will enjoy this remake and I sincerely hope that this time it will go somewhere.
