The next chapter of my fanfic is out! I'll bet you all have just been on the edge of your seats for months. Or not. Probably not. It's cool, I won't judge you. I'll just eat a tub of ice cream and cry myself to sleep because that's totally what normal people doooooo.
Anyways, I felt it was worth mentioning that I have had a little help. I've hired a friend of mine to proofread my chapters as I finish them, not just because my grasp of English isn't as great as I thought it was, but because this buddy is in need of money. Not only has she been doing a fantastic job so far, but it's actually not her first proofreading gig! If you were a regular follower of the webcomic The Pale, well, that's where she honed her chops first.
Now, I understand that there are groups of people on FiMFiction that'll read your fanfics for free, and that's great. More power to them, man. But hey, maybe you're writing something non-pony-related. Maybe it's a comic instead of a fanfic. Hey, maybe you even run a personal blog. You can't ask these groups to take care of your personal writing projects, you see. They're volunteering for a specific purpose, and to ask them to do something extra just isn't cool.
If you've appreciated my work or read that webcomic and found them to be properly written, and you have a writing project (pony, non-pony, fanfic, or non-fanfic) that needs a trained eye to correct, I recommend my friend Phoena! She's on DeviantArt under the name CelesTempest, and you can email her at tempest_fox@msn.com. She charges me by the page, but you can work out the rate with her to fit your budget. No slashfics accepted, and all material must be kept PG-13.
