Challenge for Nightmare Night · 5:09am Oct 7th, 2013
So, I've set a challenge for myself: I have to write at least one Dark story, beginning to end, and have it all posted by midnight(EST) on Nightmare Night. I've already got a number of ideas flowing around through my head, but, for the next few days, any suggestions would be more than welcome. I'm thinking that maybe a decent-length one-shot actually themed around the night would be a decent place to start, but what with my current filter busted to Tartarus and all, I'm pretty sure that a good suggestion or two would be nice, or at the bare minimum, a bit of an outsider's look on my idea(s).
So, with the general devolution of Ponyville on a very peculiar Nightmare Night as one idea, I guess I should mention a few more. To be honest, I think it would be interesting if a few of you decided to take up a few of these ideas and join me in my challenge. Let's see, a few of my actually coherent ideas:
)A collection of notes, journal entries, and letters from a serial killer; possibly deranged outright, but mayhaps another descending into it.
)Fluttershy gets a taste of actual meat and starts to devour the animals she cares for.
)Rarity decides her fashion needs a new direction and, upon learning a very interesting healing spell, turns to Spike for a very special favor.
)Twilight cracks and decides that Luna is a threat to Equestria.
)A prequel to this.
Thoughts? Suggestions? Am I trying too hard? Am I not trying hard enough? Are you just reading this idly for the sake of feeling like you didn't just waste your time in following me? Anypony? Yes? No? Yeah, okay...
All of these are good ideas. Perhaps I will join you in the challenge.
1411727 Please do! I can't possibly write all of these in time. Though if you did, I'd be glad to know if you decided on one of the ideas on my list so I don't choose it.
1411952 I would like to write the one about Fluttershy eating her animals. Just be warned I am not the best writer.
1412060 You say it as if you believe I am. The point is to add a little something tinged in darkness to the site for the most fitting day of the year.
