My Lyra Story Has Gotten a (Beautiful) Dramatic Reading! · 5:56am Aug 31st, 2013
“If I find in myself desires which nothing in this world can satisfy, the only logical explanation is that I was made for another world.” - C.S. Lewis
So, over a year ago I tried to write a short story that would be my answer to the wishful dreaming of certain Human in Equestria stories, a kind of love-letter to the sort of young readers who still check the backs of their wardrobes for doors to other worlds or look out their windows for owls bearing their invitations to schools of magic. How successful I was is debatable, but readers seemed to like it for the most part, and every now and then someone still drops a comment about it, which always brightens my day.
Now, much to my unexpected delight, I found a message from the talented obabscribbler, who has performed a wonderful reading of my short story, A Spell for Lyra. This is the first time I've ever heard my fiction read by someone else, and I am surprised, humbled and enchanted by it. For those that are interested, I'd encourage you to check it out.
