Hm... let's see if I can figure out what's going on here.

After Ditzy died, Dinky eventually went to that guy and made some sort of pact, which traded Ditzy's heart (explaining the stitches), and therefore everything that the heart can represent (soul, kindness, warmth, etc.), for her life. Dinky is thus torn about her actions and hopes her mother can forgive her.

... It's late, I'm tired, and I might just be pointing out the obvious...
