Only bad new this time :/ · 7:25pm Aug 14th, 2013
So... I just got smashed in the face with writers block. Also, I'm going on holiday for a week on this Saturday to a beach villa in Northumberland with no internet connection so I wont be able to do any writing over there. Aren't I just your favourite author right now?
A further expansion on the writers block predicament would be for me to say that I'm stuck on how to connect the beginning of both my fics to the next big section, and that's it. I just can't figure out how to make a smooth transition from one section to the next, even though I have the full storyline worked out for both Eternal Flame and Reality Hits You Hard. Hell, I've even go a fucking sequel planned out for RHYH, so it's even more irritating than usual writers block.
Anywhorse, the bad news doesn't stop there, when I get back from holiday I'm going to be working my ass off, so it's gonna be even harder to pump out more chapters and fics, but when I'm on holiday I promise I'll keep on thinking of ideas on how to make that desired transition for both fics. Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye.
Welp, sorry for all of that. That's all for now folks, this is TheFIMguru signing off.
(Pls don't hate me)
To be fair, the first chapter of Eternal Flame doesn't really go anywhere.
open the dictionary on a random word and try writing a short story about it, should help with the writer's block. Also, it's a bit of a bad situation if you think you need the internet to write; people have been writing for a long time before that existed.
p.s. "beach villa" get yooou.
1285123 Wow, thanks man (JK) Also, it WAS a prologue.
1285297 Thanks for the advice, also, you jelly?

Yes, except prologues tend to be short, vague scenes set way before the start of the fic, designed to create intrigue. If you'd done a bit about the guy being born, maybe alluding to his "secret" with snippets of conversation, that would have been an epic prologue.
The prologue you've given us reads like a first chapter, just sayin'.
Also, as an addition to what 1285297 said, here's a list of good prompts. Go wild.
1285418 flying fuckbarrels that's a lot of prompts.
