A Day in D.C. · 2:57am Aug 9th, 2013
So DBZorDie is heading back home soon, but before he heads back my wife Bookplayer wanted to make sure he got a bit of culture. So the three of us hopped in the car and made the three hour trek to Washington D.C. to visit the Smithsonian. Now, what's more fun than seeing priceless artifacts of the world in one of the largest museums in the world?
Well that's easy: KrazyTheFox! I had only heard of Krazy through DBZ and Bookplayer, and hadn't met him through the website. I have to say he's one of the most well-spoken, intelligent, and polite folks I've ever met! Hearing stories of his life and his travels was absolutely fascinating and had I not had to work tomorrow, I'd have gladly driven back home super late just for the chance to talk more to him. For one so young, he's done so much. Truth be told, I'm a bit jealous of the amount of traveling he's been able to do and simply can't imagine what it's like to live in the amazing lands he's called home.
This just re-enforces how fantastic the brony community is. While I'm sure there's a bad apple or two in the bunch, I haven't met them. Everyone I interacted with at BronyCon was fantastic, DBZ has been great to have as a house guest, and Krazy is just amazing. I'm so pleased to see how many bronies take the messages of the show to heart and really live them. Brony on, my friends.
Now, for something completely different. We were in the Museum of Natural History, which is awesome. It's three floors of fossils, casts and art depicting various animal life forms across earth. I didn't see any ponies, but no place is perfect. Now, there's also a fourth floor, but visitors aren't allowed up there. Sooper Seekrit Science, I say. Still, something struck me as creepy while we were there. All the ancient sea life in the early periods of history reminded me of creatures from H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos and to be frank, I was a little freaked out. I kept expecting to see a bas relief of some unknown rock type tucked away in some shadowy corner. Come to think of it, maybe that is what's hidden on the fourth floor.
Hopefully, no one
gets any funny ideas
Strange things are afoot at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History... oh, and awesome bronies too.
Well shucks.

I'm actually at a loss of words after that.

That would have been so much better without the poor attempt at lip syncing. :P
