How would YOU fight Mandeville Arms? · 8:30pm Aug 3rd, 2013
Hey folks!
Wanted to let you all know I was still writing, though my productivity is likely to decrease by Labor Day, as I'll be moving in with my girlfriend to our new apartment, and be taking on a second job to support it. How much of a hit it all takes, I don't know, but I'm still really excited about what's going on with Black Equinox, and not likely to give up any time soon.
Speaking of, here's a little sample of what I've got going on.
Probably the best human face I've ever modeled, though the hair could use work. Hehe, this is gonna be fun.
Well anyway, while I was here, you all ought to know the big rematch between Mandeville and ponykind is imminent! Both sides will have surprises for the other, but I rather wondered what YOU guys thought. Comments have led to a lot of fun and interesting speculation, especially for our previous chapter, in which everyone guessed who Corey had brought with him, from extradimensional marines to Shining Armor.
So I might ask some of you folks, just what would YOU do to get an edge on Mandeville's forces in a straight fight? They might have anti-magic, but clearly there are a lot of indirect means of applying magic to combat. Want a free example idea? Sabotage larger units with a combination of parasprite summoning spells and food pacification spells, though this should be done with great care (obviously).
Not gonna give much else away, but I'd like to hear how you guys think this will go down!
Dragons. If I could only have one ally, it would be dragons. From Spike's death and Mandevill's reaction to it, they're much more durable than anything he's met. Mandeville was surprised that Spike lasted more than a few seconds after the attack, and he was a baby. Imagine the carnage a full grown dragon could produce.
I agree with Volt Aire. I can even see Twilight using spike's death to ask them for help. I happen to know that Twilight has studied Draconic, so she could very easily speak with them, although some of them do know the common tongue, as demonstrated in Dragonshy. Hey, maybe fluttershy could get them. Granted, Mandeville would quickly devise a way to defeat the dragons, he has been taken by surprise by everything the ponies have done so far, so they would most certainly deal some major damage before they were neutralized. After that, I see Twilight coming up with something really clever. I'm going to stop trying to write your story now.
In any case, I think dragons would be wicked awesome if you could convince them to fight.

Uh... dude, you DO realize Chapter 13 is out right now, don't you?
I THOUGHT it was conspicuous that you hadn't chimed in yet. Don't you have the site email you about updates? That's what I do.

You made this blog post three days ago. Chapter 13 has been out for three weeks. Am I missing something?
1269859 Oh, okay, nevermind then. Sorry, you just usually have something to say whenever a chapter comes out, and the way you were talking about the dragons sounded like you weren't privy to the events of Chapter 13, given that was the entire reason the group trekked out there. I know you've outright missed releases in the past, so I thought maybe you just hadn't seen it yet.

Oh, no. I've read it. there's just been a lot going on in the past three weeks, so I've forgotten what happened. Honestly the chapters are all blurring together at this point. Last thing I remember is the schizm between RD and AJ, and Twilight getting upset because they can't attack Mandeville because he needs to be alive to keep the sun and moon going. Eventually he'll die and the world will end. Perhaps I should reread it.
Trying to replicate MJOLNIR Mk. VI armor and pretending to be Master Chief so I can fight about 50 CID's at one time with one hoof tied to my back.
