    Stories

Eh, so I'm really struggling in the "story idea/story writing" department, as in, I really don't feel like writing at all and it feels like a burden.

    Meh.

Hey guiz. So, I've been away for awhile for personal reasons (before anyone asks, no, it is not because I was depressed, or because I quit, or because I was getting super youtube famous. It was for reasons regarding school).

Now, this site has changed even MORE and my page looks more and more UNBEARABLE to lay my EYES upon! Can anybody tell me what's going on?

    Original Story Concept

So, I sorta kinda came up with an interesting concept while sulking in the shower, which just so happens to be my usual brainstorming facility. It is an alternate universe fiction wherein the mane six never exists.

    But hold on... don't they?

Here is the little blurb thingy doohickey for the story...

    Snow in Iowa City

That's right, the first sign of snow is now just beginning to fall here in my lovely little town, thus marking the sign of a winter full of me staying indoors and getting absolutely nothing done.

That's probably false. I promise I'll have new material out, especially since I've got nothing to look forward to in these next few months but finals in December.

So a chapter that was originally only supposed to be around 2,000 words might go in excess of 4,000. I've been procrastinating, but otherwise the chapter would be finished.

3, 400 words in. I need to finish this damn thing today or else it might never get done. I suck.

But anyway...

For those interested, The Collection will be coming out soon/eventually. We got three more sections to write up and it'll be finished! You guys get to see something that I came up with back in January (how embarrassing...).

And hey guys, tell me what you're working on in the comments! Future projects maybe, or if you just plan to lounge around and read. Sound good? Sound off.

Let's see here...

1. A Fallout trollfic.
2. A LD epic.
3. A Samurai Jack/MLP crossover
4. [spoilers]CLASSIFIED[/spoilers]

Not much, really.

Man, I feel you. This Discord fic I've been writing is 5,000 words longer than I originally expected and I'm not done yet. I'm hoping that I'm 2,000 words from completion, but I can't seem to shut up!

After that, Statoose and I are trying to work out a fic together and I have a new chapter to of Taking a Job for Granite that I've written about a third of that I need to get working on.

The Mailbox needs to be caught up on Pinkie letters. Your collab stuff gets attention. I'll get it done within the week. Probably.

Finally, three fics that are stomping around in the back of my brain need to be some face time. They've sent me some strongly worded letters regarding litigation if they don't some equal representation sometime soon.

WHEN DID I GET SO MUCH PONY STUFF TO DO?!

1252166 So much pony stuff to do! STOP ADOPTING PONY STUFF TO DO.

Man, I've got two other fics that I really wanna work on but I've promised myself to not work on them until Pink Umbrellas is done. SAD DAY. All of my ideas right now are chapter fics, and I'm no good with chapter fics, so this ought to be a challenge.

Recipe for disaster really.

1252151 I've never read any of the Fallout fics. I could care less really, they don't interest me, regardless of how well they are written.

What's a LD epic? (Is that a stupid question?)

Doesn't sound like not much. Sounds like more than I ever do around here...

Understand you view on Fallout and the like. I'm giving it a shot once it's done updating.

Also... LD = Lightning Dust. Sorry for the confusion.

1252429 But if I don't keep it up, the shaking and night sweats start up!

I'm trying to write a pretty website to better keep track of things going on here, in EQD, bandcamp, youtube, etc. I only have 1.5k written for that, and it'll probably go to 20k+.

I also found someone willing to write an Android keylogger with me using a recently discovered vulnerability, so that too. I have about 10k written for that, expecting it to go to 12~13k before it's done.

You know how it goes.

1254086 I have no idea how to computer :( but that sounds really cool! I'll have to visit the site to keep up with that sort of stuff.

I'm sure you could learn in a short time. With writing, there's a lot of intuition behind it. But with computers and programming, most of the tools are written specifically to be understood and reused, and people try very hard to keep things simple.

You know how that keylogger works? An Android application is really just a zip file. The executable is located in that zip in a file called "classes.dex". I'm taking one of these zip files and adding my own "classes.dex" file into it so that there are now two executables in there. Android gets confused and tells the user that the app does one thing, then it uses my executable instead when the user tries to run it.

You want to know how that "classes.dex" keylogger file works that I'm adding in there? When Android runs an application, it keeps track of how to do things in a list of lists of lists of lists of .... you get the picture. These lists of lists are called data structures. All these data structures are predictable and nicely organized so that Android can do things quickly. When an application says "let the user enter a password", that's in a data structure somewhere. My keylogging file just changes the lists around so that "let the user enter a password" translates to "let the user enter a password... and then save it somewhere".

What I'm doing is just slightly more complicated than that, but that's about as complicated as computers are.

1260343 It's mostly a lot of the lingo. I really didn't care for computers when I was younger so I have absolutely no idea what some of the stuff you are talking about is. I understand the lists, but that's about all.
