Hey look, I wrote a thing. · 12:40am Jul 26th, 2013
This story's concept comes to you courtesy of the delightful mind of T_K_21. In an Equestria where nearly everypony is gay, Roseluck finds herself with an unusual desire: to be with a stallion... of her own free will. Basically, it's about heteronormativity flipped on its head, so straight ponies get ostracized and ridiculed. Lyra and Bon-Bon make appearances as a couple/unintentional stand-up comedy duo. Despite the rather heavy subject matter, I did what I could to keep the story upbeat and fun as much as possible. You should totally check it out!
I'll give it a read. I just hope you explain how a species can survive near complete homosexuality, assuming ponies reproduce like nearly everything on earth.
I wish I knew what was going on with those URL tags wtf

I explain it away with a mandated "mating season" where everypony has to be straight for a while, to the collective annoyance of all involved.
1236535 Ah, okay. Makes sense.
"Late Bloomer"
You need to use "http://" before the "www".
I hate how Nicknack pointed out the fatal flaw of that artist. Now I can never look at his drawings without noticing how weird the anatomy is.

The solution I remember from another fic I read with this same premise (WAAAAAAAAY back in the day) was the use of a 'breeding mirror'. It's a bit of an odd idea at the outset, but it's less weird than 'okay now go stick your dick in some vag', and also a nod to a terrible comic from the earlier generations of ponos.
I've never liked this type of inversion.
Feels disingenuous.

I can see your point, and I'm not 100% sure I would've done it outside of a commission. But hey, it was, so here we are.

I understand what you're saying. Homophobia and sexuality are complicated subjects that I am far from qualified to talk about. This is why I encouraged a comedic approach to the subject. I didn't want to get up and make some statement that this is exactly like this because honestly, what do I know? My intention was to bring the idea up to people who may not have considered it before in a way that's not... divisive? I guess?
To be honest, the idea originally stuck in my head simply because I found it funny, not because of any meaning or message that could be gleaned from it. Vimbert found a nice balance between that and something a bit more serious, I think, and over all I'm pretty happy with the results.

I just find it difficult to fathom the sociopolitical conditioning that would lead to heterophobia.
There goes obsessive logic ruining my fun again.

In my original idea it was tied to some off-handed comment Celestia made several hundred years ago while drunk.

I would have had so much fun with that! Then again, that's a tad beyond the scope of the story you wanted, I suppose.
