Story Time 3: With Complete Tongue Action · 9:26pm Jul 17th, 2013
Another Tabletop Tale:
Back in a previous Fallout Equestria game using an old system that has since been updated, J1 (though he was simply known by his name at the time, as his brother had not yet joined the group) created Stryx Taleweaver.
Stryx Taleweaver was a griffon (who have since been cut from the game as a playable race) with the tag skills Speech, Barter, and Melee. Stryx Taleweaver has a decent charisma, good talk to people skills, and eloquently tells tales. J1 does not know how to speak to NPCs.
In his first attempt at bartering with a merchant, he says, “Do you have anything that I can have... for free?” The asking involved some complex “gimmie” wrist motions and finger twiddling (in his mind, having hands is the primary perk of being a griffon).
I say, “Make a barter check.”
He rolls, before he even tells me the result, I say, “No!”
Still, this remained his favored technique. It has since evolved. Asking for things “For Free” involves 3 main steps.
Step 1: Enunciate “... For Free” in the creepiest manner possible while making crazy eyes.
Step 2: Begin crazy “gimme” fingers.
Step 3: Complete Tongue Action.
Complete Tongue Action is the procedure of flicking the tongue at the upper lip while making a slurping noise.
It is clearly the best way to ask NPCs for anything.
