I'm not for christianity in any way. In fact, I'm strongly against it, but that doesn't mean I harass anyone over it if they choose to believe in the sky fairy.
But when the christians decided to put themselves out there, and call US out for being wrong, it just outright pisses me off.
Recently, I got into a "debate" of sorts on a blog on FIMFiction. The affirmative of christianity, my opponent, was actually arguing with almost everyone else on the blog as well! He used the typical christian argument of stating the same damn thing over and over again in a hundred different ways.
Since I despise this person so much, here's his profile name: Emerald Flight
Feel free to go cuss him out, or spam his blog wall with crap. This was mostly a venting post for me, though. So please don't take anything I posted up here to heart unless you really want to.
Now that I got that off my chest, check this out:
Isn't he so adorable?
As a Christian I have to ask:
1) What was the argument about?
2) What was his stance on the argument?
3) Was he an asshole?
1200363 Regidar posted a blog saying how he doesn't believe in the afterlife, (Nirvana, Heaven, Valhalla, etc.) that was all he said. He never said he hated people that believed in such things, it was totally innocent.
However, this person I was arguing with decided to post a hateful response, saying that Regidar was wrong and he had no place to say things like that.
I got a little upset and told him to respect other people's beliefs, and then the argument sort of just erupted into a flame war.
He also started an argument with EVERYONE else that either agreed with me, or didn't even say something against Regidar's post! He literally started an argument with 7 or 8 other people at the SAME time!
So yes, I think he was an asshole.
That's all I remember, I'm afraid.
1201316 Why are so many of my so-called "fellow Christians" total buts? We are supposed to be leading by example, showing ourselves to be good and caring. We are supposed to be kind, charitable, understanding, nonjudgmental, and peaceful. Why do so many insist on ignoring the core tenants of our faith to get into shouting matches over unimportant minutia? Who cares if they don't believe in an afterlife!? That's not the important part! We literally serve the God of Love and Tolerance and this is an MLP site. This should not be this hard!
1201409 I may not believe in your faith, but that's what I've always viewed it as. It's supposed to be a good way of living: love thy neighbor, do not covet, etc. Leading by example is a good way to put it.
1201474 Heck, Acording to Roman Catholicism, God IS Love, as in literally made of the stuff. How such an entity could in any way approve of conflict is beyond me.
