When am I going to make the front page? · 4:22pm Jun 20th, 2013
Over the Rainbow has incredible ratings and the same goes for Hybrid Rainbow... So why aren't they on the front page? Why is that? My work deserves such recognition!

I definitely agree with you on that. OtR and HR don't, yet those horrid foalcon stories do. This site is getting so messed up.
I haven't read any of your work, tbh, but 114 favorites on a story is generally not enough to make the feature box upon updating. It's a great number, don't get me wrong. It'll maybe hit the popular box when it's updated... maybe. You also have to realize that Over the Rainbow is now a dead story. Meaning it's complete, you'll never update it again. And that means it will never have a chance to get featured/hit popular box ever again.
But hey, don't be down, be thankful you got the upvotes on it, and the followers. The ratio of up/down is actually damn good. Remember that it could be the best story EVER written, and still have that many likes and favs. The way this site operates, and the way people operate, influence any given story's popularity. Like the time of day you post updates. How cool does your cover image look. How intriguing is your title. Your description. Etc. So what I'm saying is, it's not, strictly speaking, your fault that you're not more popular. A good explanation would simply be: luck.
Anyhow, write a new story and move on. Practice makes perfect and if at first you don't succeed, try, try again! And don't write another sequel. That's a dead end unless the first was wildly popular. The readers of a sequel are limited to those who've read the first one and still have interest. As you can tell by your upvotes on HR, that's roughly half the upvotes of the first fic, but curiously not much loss in favs. Still, any sequel is going to get less views than the original, and if you're looking for popularity, you want more than your last story, not less.
Now that you have some followers, your next story has a better chance of having more readers. And so on for the next one.
Good luck!
