Another Potential Cover Image

It totally wasn't my plan to have a new cover image every week, really. So, I'm holding off before I swap in yet another until I get some feedback on the contender. Here she is:

While the current cover is baduassu this one seems to encapsulate the themes better.
What do you fellows think?

I saw that one, but the point of the image is an evil Celestia with Twilight's skull. Sure, it captures the "dark essence" of Apoptosis, but what the picture portrays and what the story is about is a bit too different, I think, for this particular image to function as the Cover Art.

she looks rather desperate and/or determined on the pic. And twilights skull could stand for twilights impending death so it would fit

But I cant say which pic is better. The old one is more aggressive wile this is calmer so choose which of these two moods fits the story better.

Thematically, this fits better. The current cover image would be better, I feel, as a cover for Titanomachy.

As for the meaning, one could argue that Celestia is indeed "going dark." And Twilight's skull looks like it's in some way incubating. Perhaps the explosion in Magicsl Mystery Cure wasn't as, ah, total as we'd been led to believe, leaving behind the charred skull of Twilight Sparkle for new life to spring forth from?

I mean, hell, if Athena can spring fully grown from Zeus' head.

The artist's story behind the image doesn't match but I was thinking that its meaning would change if placed in the context of Apoptosis. The skull would represent/foreshadow Twilight's impending death and the particularly war-like Celestia would be her struggling with/fighting against that outcome.
