Part of me would like to give somepony a fish Pokemon like Feebass, but just like the show I'd rather not give them something that can only fight in water and just flops on its side on land. What I'm wondering is, would you object to me giving somepony a fish Pokemon and have where it hovers just above the ground like the games, breaking from anime logic and replacing it with game logic? It's not like it would be flying, just hovering slightly above the ground.

actually, with Unicorn or Alicorn magic...that could work...as long as the fish is with the Mane 6 and not the CMC as i dont think Sweetie is that good quite yet...then again, all the fish like Pokemon generally have horrible stats and unimaginative or no evolved forms so...its a bit of a catch 22, ur damned if u do, damned if u dont. Misty was the only character in the show to use anything resembling a fish, and that was Goldeen. it can be assumed that she acquired a Magicarp (i HATE that thing!) at some point as later episodes have her training a Garydos, but still...

One thing to keep in mind with any Pokemon: Base game stats don't mean crap to me. I HATE when people obsess over the IVs, base stats, nature, characteristics and all that. That stuff kills the fun of the games and devalues the bond you develop with the Pokemon. I don't care what the base stats or IVs of my Pokemon are; as long as they can hold their own when actually used in battle, then I'll use them. My Basculin wasn't EV trained, but he's a beast in battle.
Basically what I'm getting at is in this fic I will be doing what they do in the anime: Any species can potentially beat any other species just as long as they're used properly, and to Hell with in-game stats. I still won't give them moves they can't learn in-game, of course.

Having them float just does not seem to fit right plus if its a spell cast by a unicorn it seems a bit like cheating in a battle but I suppose if its used more for just spending time with the pokemon outside of battle it sound fine.
yes, I can see the awesome face then a feebass evolves into a milotic.
(milotic is one of my favorite pokemon and the most be beautiful one.)
