What Inspired My AppleSparkle Pairing · 1:48pm Jun 12th, 2013
Some of you might be wondering what may have possessed me to ship Applejack and Twilight Sparkle. It's a two-part answer. The first and general impetus was a discussion post on the Shipping Group (I think) where someone said that an Applejack x Twilight Sparkle pairing was unrealistic/doomed to failure. I resolved to see how I'd write it so the pairing would be both believable and fun. The second part of the answer is more of how I'm characterizing the relationship and why it even can come to be. The answer lies within a great Flogging Molly song called "Whistles The Wind":

So I'll leave it up to you if you want to see who's singing the song to whom. I'm hoping that those who read this blog post will get a little more out of the story as I post more chapters. Maybe you'll see the ties between the song and the story and maybe you won't, but this song will always remain at the center of the story. My guess would be Twilight is the singer (mostly due the fact that AB said she soemtimes heard AJ crying at night)
