    Ten Years of Doctor Perseus

Today marks the tenth anniversary of me creating my account here on FIMFiction. It feels incredibly surreal to type that out. Sometimes it almost feels like yesterday when I was a bright-eyed Brony entering the world of MLP fanfiction for the first time. And sometimes it feels like another lifetime ago.

10 Years After My First Fanfic/My Thoughts on Recent MLP & Doctor Who Content

Hello, everybody! It has certainly been a minute since my last blog post. Like I have said in the past, I am not on here as often as I used to be but I certainly try my best to check on my account whenever I can. In all honesty, I was planning on waiting to write out a blog like this until the tenth anniversary of my FIMFiction account. While I still plan on doing that, I was inspired to write

The 10th Anniversary of Friendship is Magic's Premiere

I know I'm not as active here as I used to be but I felt that I had to at least make a little comment here about Friendship is Magic officially beginning its journey into ten-year status. I can't believe it's been ten years since Friendship is Magic started. Heck, I can't believe it's already been a year since the series ended. Does make me wish that we could have gotten a tenth season in order

What Could Have Been: Doctor Whooves Seasons 3&4

Told ya the wait wouldn't be long. Anyway, here I am to FINALLY close the book on Doctor Whooves once and for all by laying out the rest of what I had planned out for Doctor Whooves. Unlike with Season 2, I'm just going to keep my plans for Seasons 3 and 4 in one blog as I hadn't planned everything out in as much detail as I did the arcs of Season 2. But, still, there is plenty of content to

What Could Have Been: Doctor Whooves Season 2, Arc 3

Yeah...sorry for the long wait on this one. I really have no excuse for taking this long to get around to finally uploading the rest of my plans for what I originally had in store for my Doctor Whooves fanfic series. But I'm here now, for those of you who are still interested in learning about the future I originally had planned for a series I ended well over two years ago. Better being SUPER

My Thoughts on Matt Smith's Confirmed Departure from Doctor Who · 4:32pm Jun 4th, 2013

I know I'm a couple days late with this one but I decided to give my thoughts on this topic as, aside from the upcoming 50th anniversary special and the mystery behind John Hurt's character, it's the hottest topic in the Doctor Who fandom right now. Information on this can be found at the link below:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-22741493

So, it's now been confirmed that Matt Smith will be leaving Doctor Who in the 2013 Christmas special. I am a bit sad to see Matt leave but I think it's the right time, per say. From the look of things, the BBC might be trying to incorporate that the average "lifetime" for each incarnation of the Doctor should be about three seasons. Tennant had three seasons (excluding the 2009 specials) and now Smith will have three seasons. I actually don't have any big problems with this because three seasons can be enough to flesh out the entire "lifetime" of an incarnation of the Doctor and his respective companions. With River Song taking her leave from the series, I figured it wouldn't be too long before Matt Smith would leave as well. True, I had expected him to stick around for at least one more season and it did surprise me a bit that the transition from the Eleventh to the Twelfth Doctor would be taking place so soon. In fact, I do kinda wish that Smith was going to stick around for at least one more season because I really wanted to see a lot more of the current 11th Doctor. Let me explain. In-between The Angels Take Manhattan and The Snowmen the 11th Doctor went through a pretty big personality change, in a sense. It's a bit hard to describe but I'm sure that a lot of us Whovians can tell that there's a different feel from Matt's Doctor from how he acted in series 5-7: part 1 to how he acted in series 7: part 2. I guess the best, dumbed-down way to describe it is that the 11th Doctor from the Pond Era was pretty childish at times and truly fit into the whole "Madman in a Box" persona. The 11th Doctor from the Clara Era, however, was definitely more serious, less trusting, and more stoic in nature. Sure, he still had a few of his childish elements but he seemed to revert back to a few personality traits seen in Eccleston's and Tennant's Doctors. And, actually, I like this version of the 11th Doctor more. He was a bit more reflective of his past and a somewhat more complex character than what he had appeared as in the Pond Era. Now, I'm not trying to say that the 11th Doctor was bad or mediocre during the Pond Era because he wasn't and he was still a complex character there. I'm just saying that I prefer the Clara Era 11th Doctor to the Pond Era 11th Doctor and I wish that we could have seen a bit more of this persona for at least one more season. But, hey, at least we get to see him in the 50th anniversary and the Christmas special before the time comes for him to regenerate. And speaking of that...

Now with Matt Smith having confirmed to be leaving, everybody is talking about and speculating who the Twelfth Doctor's going to be. I've heard a lot of interesting ideas. Strangely enough, the most popular choice I've come across is Rupert Grint (who, for those who don't know, is famous for playing Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter series). Now, I'm a HUGE Harry Potter fan and I loved Rupert as Ron; and, granted, I can understand why people would probably want to see him as the Doctor other than the fact that he's from Harry Potter. Rupert probably could pull off an interesting incarnation of the Doctor and the Doctor would finally fulfill his dream of being a ginger. I'm not entirely against the idea of Rupert being the Twelfth Doctor but I'm not entirely for it either. I've heard several different ideas for who should be the 12th Doctor from Benedict Cumberbatch to David Harewood. And, from the look of things, a lot of people seem to be rooting for either a ginger Doctor, a Doctor that's not white, or a female Doctor. My thoughts on these are that I'd be interested in any of them. It'd be interesting to see a Doctor that's not white or a Doctor that's a woman. Heck, coming back to the topic of Harry Potter actors being requested for Doctor Who, some people are thinking that if they make the 12th Doctor a woman then Emma Watson (famous for playing Hermione Granger) should take the role. However, we can only speculate and hypothesize until the time comes for the 12th Doctor to make his or her appearance on December 25, 2013. I guess all I have left to say is that I've enjoyed Matt Smith's time in Doctor Who, it'll be a bit saddening to see him go, and I'm really interested to see who will be taking up the mantle of the Doctor this Christmas; and, hey, at least Clara's sticking around. That is all for now.

hey you do know that there could be a episode of doctor who where a portal or something witch takes the doctor and his companion to a universe where everyone is the reverse gender right

1123982
That would be interesting but I wouldn't count on it as that sounds like a plot that will probably only stick in the world of fanfictions. I honestly don't see the BBC making an episode like that. A gender-swapped alternate universe episode will probably only happen in Doctor Who the day MLP FiM has an episode where Twilight ends up in the Cupcakes universe. That's just how I see it anyway.

1124001 well what if it haves something to with the cracks but the crack leads to a different universe

1124001 Oh my gosh no, MLP:FIM could never do an episode about Cupcakes! :twilightoops:

1124012
Are you talking about the cracks from series 5? It'd be impossible to incorporate those again as the cracks dilemma was solved and taken care of in The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang story arc.

:yay: I've been waiting for your thoughts on this because you have such interesting thoughts. I am also saddened to see Matt Smith's tenure as the Doctor come to an end. (I think though I was more sad to see David Tennant's tenure as the Doctor come to an end.) Matt Smith and his bow ties and his fezes and his "Geronimo!" really grew on me. Anyway, I think it would be awesome if Rupert Grint became the next Doctor. It would certainly fit the tradition of subsequent incarnations of the Doctor being younger than the last. :rainbowlaugh: (He's the same age I am! :flutterrage: And he has done soooo much more with his life. :fluttershysad:) Also, it would be the first time the Doctor is played by an actor I can immediately recognize. I also wouldn't have a problem if the Doctor became a woman (especially if it's Emma Watson, like you suggest) or nonwhite. With Doctor Who celebrating 50 years, it seems like the best time to make a dramatic change like that.

The only thing I have a problem with is that I don't think Benedict Cumberbatch should be the Doctor. I don't watch Sherlock (I might get into it to see what the fuss about Cumberbatch is all about. I'm a bit of a Sherlockian; I've read three of Conan Doyle's novels.) and I haven't seen Star Trek: Into Darkness yet, so I'll take everyone's word for it as to how great Benedict Cumberbatch is. The thing is that Benedict Cumberbatch has already played one iconic British character: Sherlock Holmes. It would unfair to everyone else to have him also play the Doctor.

1124028 but what if the crack is from another universe

1124093
A bit of a stretch but I guess that would make sense.:applejackunsure:

I would definitely like to see a Black/Asian Doctor. and for those who want a female doctor, well...:[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=Do-wDPoC6GM]

1124063
I've seen Star Trek: Into Darkness and I enjoyed it quite a lot even though I'm not really a huge Star Trek fan; and, yes, I thought Cumberbatch was excellent in it. It probably would be unfair if Cumberbatch were cast as the 12th Doctor but I highly doubt that would even happen as Cumberbatch is becoming a big name and busy actor and I doubt that he would have time to commit to taking on such a demanding role.

1125868 That's exactly what I was thinking! :rainbowlaugh:
