Wow, it's been a while since I've written one of these. Not gonna lie, it feels nice being able to stretch my metaphorical legs and write something where I can really express the cognitive workings of my psyche...

Alright look, let's just get down to it I guess. As many of you have noticed, there has been a new story posted on the site called "KIA." It's been featured, so it's been getting a lot of traction lately (I didn't get featured until, like, my fourth chapter, but fine...whatever...I don't even care -sniff-). I've actually gotten a message from a fan pointing it out, and I've noticed that a lot of the comments on the story have called FoxiHooves out on charges of plagiarism. First things first.
Awwww, thanks guys. I didn't know you cared. It's really flattering to see so many people willing to do that to protect my non-legal copyrights or whatever. I mean, seriously, thanks. It's touching to see fans care. Or hell, maybe you don't give a rat's ass about me but just enjoy calling people out on suspected dick moves, but I like to think you actually do wuv me.
Second, neither are related. They take place in different universes, and I have about as much say in what goes on his story as he does in mine (i.e. nothing). Both stories are independent from one another.
Now, for the actual point of this. I gave my permission to FoxiHooves to publish his story. The transcript of the conversation can be seen here. Now, FoxiHooves had no obligation to do this, and it was quite sporting of him to do so in the first place. His story is, at the end of the day, not all that different from any other Spartan in Equestria story on the site. As far as I could tell, it bears no real overarching similarities to MIA so far (I think, I skimmed it). Now, admittedly, the title threw me off a bit when I saw it. It would have been nice if it had been titled something less...obvious(?), but as it stands, this is no indicator of plagiarism. I have not filed any complaint to the Moderators of the site, and see no reason to. I give Foxi permission to continue writing his story, so long as he does not lift any major plot points, dialogue, or texts from MIA.
On on unrelated note, I have submitted MIA for approval at EQD...so, yeah you might see it there in the future, right after we go sleighing in hell
If they do not accept it I'm going to flip as sh!t. Easily one of the best out of HIE and Halo crossover stories.

Well then, I think I have a little more respect for Foxihooves now. That was rather sporting of him, considering he had no need to do so.

If it's any consolation, KIA only got featured because of MIA.
Undoubtedly, your story will be ten times the story I could ever make mine.
And I'm going to write WIA. If that's okay with you? If it isn't, I'm going to write POW (Prisoner of War)
If you take time and read both stories you will find they are two completely different stories. About spartans? yes. Both dealing with Shaw-Fujikawa explosion? yes, but that so far is were the similarities stop
Yeah, I really like both stories, but I don't see what peoples' problem is with it. There really are close to no similarities.
I've read most of MIA (which I FOUND through KIA, mind you), and I then read the comments on KIA.
Not to poke fun at any entertainment giants or anything, but my reaction mirrored the one I had upon seeing...well...THAT trailer for THAT movie...
Not to mention within 20 seconds it was very clearly orginal plot based (very loosly) on fannon material and anyone who'd done more than read the titles of both stories would know that...
I have full read (as mach as is up ATT) and can say the only coman thing in the 2 is both spartens get to Equestria by a slipspace bomb mia jorge hits the button and in kia its Six that dose it.... that and both being halo reach based crossovers are the only things the 2 sheared... Mia is set mid seson 2 or post it and kia is post seson 3 so that said. both bucking rock and are good stories and vary entertaining.
You guys should do a joint project, no idea what it should be but I would still read the shit out of it!
... huh. So that's why people ask me to 'use' various bits that are tangentially related to some of my work. Because some people on this site are fucking nuts.

I gotta say that i am not a fan of EQD. They simply had no idea when they rejected Dear Sweetie bell. plus i find that this website is much more free and accessable with a better community.
