So, just caught the trailer for EG and I am not impressed.
So, no cutie marks, no horns, no wings, no pony like features at all, despite what early concept art promised.
It's not the only reason I'm going to avoid EG but those are some of the main ones.
Twilight isn't even an alicorn before she becomes human, so when is this supposed to fit in with the timeline of the mane show?
What possessed Hasbro to make this thing? It's horrible. And you can't call it My Little Pony: Equestria Girls when there are no ponies, nothing remotely pony like.
If I feel like punishing myself I might try watching an illegal download of the movie, because Celestia knows I won't pay to see it.
I'm going to just avoid this thing and pretend its not happening. If we ignore it, maybe it'll go away.
I want to see Twilight and co. going on more epic adventures and facing amazing enemies, not fighting her way through high school. Saw enough of that during my Power Rangers phase, and again in my Buffy phase - both many years apart and a couple of decades ago if you're wondering - no high school, no Equestria girls, no thanks.
Actually, she was an Alicorn before she went through the portal thing. Pause it and you can see her wings. You can even see the slivers of them when she's talking to Applejack in the first scene
Well if EG would be like Buffy I'm all for it. But I don't have hopes for it and I adapt similar strategy. Lets just hope that it will never be mentioned in 4th season which will be as good as it could be. In worst case scenario, we still have IDW comic.

My understanding is that this doesn't happen in the actual timeline. It's not something you need to think about as "cannon" to MLP... because as far as I'm aware it's not. It's a spin off... so basically an AU. At least I'm pretty sure that's how it is.
