Pony Names II

So pondering the matter at hoof as I walked to my office/class again, I was thinking "Hammer Shield" is a good avatar name.

In the late hours last night, I briefly considered some travel-related name seeing as I do travel a bit, but couldn't come up with anything. And I have been considering how procrastination could become a name (Procrastipony?) but have sort of disabused myself of that as an avatar name.

In the grifball related name, Hammer is obvious since I'm a tank preferably and am far more versed at the gravity hammer than at the energy sword. Of course Tank would also be a good name, but ones that sound good (such as Tank Runner) don't make a lot of sense since I don't run the ball. I've gotten some nice clutch stops, so "Shield" makes sense. (Especially now that I never pull host in Halo 4 and hang back to prevent blitzing at the initial spawn.)

While I would have enjoyed amusing scenes should my avatar encounter Rainbow Dash in a hypothetical future story seeing as my avatar's name and Rainbow Dash's pet's names are the same, it occurs to me that as a "Shield" there could be subtle jokes/references/nods to a certain Lunar Stallion Captain along the lines of:
Other character: "Shield? Are you related to that one captain..."
Hammer Shield: "No, not related at all."
Other character: "Oh. Okay."

Of course, with a grifball-based name, I've been trying to think how grifball could work in an Equestrian-based setting. The easiest, I suppose, would be unicorn-based illusions slamming into each other on a moderated court (other unicorns ensuring fair play on the court regarding damage ("injury") and respawning. A live-action version, unfortunately, has the issue that you couldn't kill, die, or respawn easily...

Actually, thinking about that just now (so bear with me as I muse), armor could be enchanted so that once a certain level of damage is taken, it teleports the player back to a spawn. This would allow for all of the legged pony tribes to participate and would more closely resemble a game of Halo: Reach Jump Pack Grifball mixed with Grifball Dash/Evolved seeing as pegasi would have flight abilities, unicorns could teleport around (with the ball enchanted to prevent instascoring, mind you), and earth ponies/crystal ponies would be a normal ground game. Hell, layer the court in a teleport-modulator spell to limit the teleportation distance. This might work...

Of course, by even suggesting grifball is played in Equestria, rule 85 comes into play as is whatever the rule is that says once suggested, it exists online. I shall endevor to beat out others (unless it's already too late) to write a grifball in Equestria piece this summer!
