So, yesterday, the end of Prince of Ponyville went up. It's not the ending I wanted it to have, but it's nonetheless, I feel like a huge burden has been lifted off my shoulders. No more having to come up with interesting ways to write a huge, epic melee between ponies and changelings. No more having to put my characters through nonstop pain and suffering. No more realizing that, as much as I love stories that end with a huge battle between good and evil, that maybe isn't really my wheelhouse. I can write something else now. Whatever I want. Man.
And so, my first instinct is to shackle myself to another story I haven't finished. Yes, I'm gonna try to finish "Flutterspy." Like, actually properly. There a few reasons it's sat idle so long, but chief among them was that Prince was the bigger and more popular story, and I felt obligated to focus on it, even when I couldn't focus on it.
Beyond that, well, some folks were asking about potential Prince sequels, and I came up with the following idea in the comments.
If I do make a sequel, it's going to involve Blueblood donning his iron mask, a green, hooded cloak, and calling himself "Dr. Blooze." He'll battle with his arch nemesis, the accursed Sparkle, and try to take over the world through a combination of magic, super-science, and sheer, unadulterated testicular fortitude.
Fortunately, Twi will be helped by her friends. AJ will become mishappen and rock-like, but gain immense strength and invulnerability. Rainbow Dash will gain the ability to burst into and project flame. Fluttershy will be able to turn herself invisible and create force fields. Twilight will get the ability to stretch her limbs out, but seeing as she's already a nigh-omnipotent demigoddess who wields immense arcane power, she won't really use it.
They'll be occasionally joined by Rarity, who can now shrink herself to tiny size, fly, and shoot pinpoint energy blasts, and the mysterious Spider-Pony, a wise-cracking heroine who occasionally reveals her secret identity, then makes everyone pretend that she didn't.
I think it could work, don't you?
COWER BEFORE THE UNMATCHED BRILLIANCE OF BLOOZE!
Yeah... no, I'm not going to write that. Probably. At least, not as a "real" fanfic. But... well. If there are any bored artists out there interested in drawing a one-shot comic book...
Just sayin'. Could be fun.
That's all for the day; it's my dad's birthday, and I'm off to celebrate it with him. See you later, everypony.

Huh, nopony's posted on this yet. Ah well.
Just to reiterate, I did think it was a shame that you had to end Prince like you did, but I'm not angry at you or anything. You just have to do what feel able to do.
Also, as I was then reminded of it, I decided to go give Flutterspy a read over, and I would encourage its continuation.
