Three More Days... · 4:08pm Apr 16th, 2013
My self-imposed deadline is looming. A couple of months ago, I vowed that if I hadn't finished Prince of Ponyville by April 19th (six months since I posted the penultimate chapter), I'd put up what I've got and a synopsis of how it ends. I'd been hoping that the looming deadline would finally kick me into gear so I could finish the damned thing properly. This, thus far, has not happened.
Three more days...
Let's see, what else is there to talk about, pony-wise? Um... Double Rainboom was a bit lame, though I have tons of respect for the work that went into making it, and the animation's damned impressive. Oh, the Gameloft MLP game updated to include Canterlot; I believe I have a relevant image for that.
Okay, maybe that's not entirely fair. If nothing else, the update seems to have finally purged the parasprite infestation that plagued Ponyville. Now we have changelings in Canterlot instead, though sadly, I can't just send the girls out to kick their chitinous butts.
Also, FiMFlamFilosophy, the creator of The Mentally Advanced Series, has been running a Let's Play of Pony Fantasy VI, a ponified version of the best JRPG of all time, Final Fantasy 6. I tried to play it myself awhile back, but due to some software issues, never got too far. It's enjoyable--Flam rambling on in his Rainbow Dash voice is far more entertaining than it maybe should be--though I'm seriously questioning some of the writing decisions. Really, why would you make Celes Trixie, and Locke Apple Bloom? Clearly, the optimal solution would be Rarity as Celes and Applejack as Locke. Not that I particularly ship RariJack, but hey, makes more sense than TrixieBloom, right? Plus, then you can have Sweetie Belle as Strago and Bloom as Relm, and rather than the grandfather/granddaughter relationship, you've got Sweetie as the cautious superego and Bloom as the adventurous id. And really, despite the whole magic thing, Terra really is more like Fluttershy in personality...
... Ahem. Tangent. Don't mind me.
And... well... that seems like about it. There's other geeky things to talk about--Jaime Lannister could sure use a hand, for example--but the pony fandom seems largely quiet about now. Which... is kind of how it was when I came in... which was, wow, a year ago, give or take? Man. It's been a year already. Weird.
Well. Anyway. Three more days. For better or worse, three more days. Let's see how things shake out.
And, of course, your video for the day.

See, I don't even follow Game of Thrones, and yet I know you should feel bad for this.
...
Wow, that's just about exactly what I think of DR. Thanks for summing it up in far fewer words that I can!

I've been waiting impatiently for my brother to watch the last episode so I could start punning at him. It sort of spilled over.

Glad to oblige. Hopefully, on the next go-round they'll come up with an actual story to tell, rather than just a bunch of memes and fandom in-jokes.
