In the off chance anyone stumbles in... · 11:04am Apr 15th, 2013
Firstly, I would like to stress how unprepared I was for this place. I wrote a bit of a chapter on a whim, putting some ideas together (Which I later found out were overused clichés, urp), and found to my surprise how much people enjoyed my insanity. Thank you those who enjoy my little story, the positive feedback has been really humbling, extremely humbling. Given I expected it to get maybe....ten likes at most within a month, where it's at now is...well the pressure is making me write more, let's put it that way!
Even the negative comments have been insightful and helpful, something that has helped me alot so far. I really love how even if someone dislikes my work, which of course they're more than welcome to do, they'll also take the time to say why which helps me avoid those errors in the future. If it's story type, I can't help that. But if it's how I structure it, or pacing that is certainly helpful info! So big thank you to you guys/girls as well!
So.... yeah.
This is the first fanfiction i've written, infact the first time i've actually written anything in over ten years and the welcome i've gotten so far has encouraged me to keep going. I wish to explore several themes, but first I wish to complete 'A Voice Among the Strangers', and possibly a side-story or sequel of sorts. Then I may look at working with purely established characters or something else, I really don't know.
And now i'm blabbering, in a blog post. Good first blog post, whee...
On another note, if anyone who stumbles into this end of the woods knows an artist who is able to do cover art and is currently not bogged down, I would be interested to know. I'm noticing all these other stories have pretty art and while I can draw, I prefer to pay others to share their gift. So if anyone knows an artist who likes money, I would be interested to talk prices. ^-^
That all said, chapter 3 is currently in the works. About 4k words in, if I don't re-write it seven times like I did chapter two. Sigh, so in short it should be another week, two tops before chapter three appears. Depends on how much I write before and after work!
Once again, thank you everyone for the kind welcome. I hope to improve my writing style to make my stories worth reading! For those who like my first foray into fanfiction, thank you and hope you enjoy where the story goes. For those that don't, thank you for your input on how I can improve!
I'm starting to look around the site now, as i've only looked at a couple of stories so far and finding this place to be a wealth of wonderful reading material.
So, all blabbering aside, thank you Fimfiction for having such a fantastic user-base to welcome a first time writer, (I really don't think I deserve that title though), such as me.
You guys & girls rock.

Can't recommend any specific artist but there is a group for what you are looking for.

Ah! I never knew that even existed.
Thank you kindly!
Shucks, we aren't all rainbows and butterflies,
But we do try to play nice.
Can't wait for the update!
Keep on going.

After just uploading chapter two am already going hard into ch.3 ! Still typing away listening to notifications bleeping constantly. @.@
Meta are fine, I can ignore them but I feel bad if I don't reply to the social ones!
Oh, I know not everyone will be nice that's a given. The overwhelming majority, now that's something to be proud of though!
I see you've been directed towards the art-for-fanfiction group, and while I don't know any artists myself I can point you towards a few other authors that know some other artists.
Tundara here has had a couple of pictures that have been done for his stories. He might be able to point you in the right direction.
Now, Dusk Quill also has had a couple of cover art done for his work. He's had less work done for his stories than Tundara but he's still got some good cover art.
And if you have a deviantART account you can hunt around for some art styles that you like and ask some of those artists.
