What to me makes a good Fanfic. · 4:48am Apr 7th, 2013
I was thinking about what I would review next and then I remember one fic that was so good to review, that is Projdspokjksaloeir Projdhblemssdfjkdshf.
But then I realized what is the point of writing reviews if no one knows what your personal standards are. So here is what I look for in a fanfic. To me fan fiction is one of the greatest forms of fan work. It allows the fans to tell stories about their favorite characters that the writers would never do. That being said fanfics are also very elusive due to fact that you have to be very careful that what you are saying stays in tune with the characters. But that is what is great about M.L.P. the character are so diverse you can find any character you need. To me the best fics will always explore the character in some way (With the exception of Parodies and some Alternate Universe but even those can explore character.) But that is the bare bones of a good fan fic, if you want your fan fic to be great you will need to do a lot more. First you need me, the reader, to want to know a lot more about your personal head cannons and also make me want to accept them as my reality for the show . Second allow me to transcend the fourth wall and have me and the character be one (this is mostly subjective.) Finally write your self a story, just write and be passionate about what you write I can tell the difference. Also O.C. are fine as long as they are flawed and aren't Marry Sues.
This is what I look for in fic. Get writing and as always Don't Forget to Be Awesome.
