Banning HiE stories? Seriously, what the fuck are you thinking.
If this is an April Fools joke ( which all evidence points to), it is in extremely poor taste. I hate it when anyone, especially websites, make earth-shattering announcements on April Fools Day. All it does is cause unnecessary distress. Last year's "G1 Filter" was perfect. Nobody got their jimmies rustled, and it was a fun thing for a day.
Now, if it turns out that this is NOT an April FOols joke, WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU THINKING!? Just going by members, Humans in Equestria is the second biggest group on this site, just behind Clopfics and well ahead of Shipping. Yes, there are tons of bad HiE stories, but you know what else? There are tons of NON-Human stories as well!
Now, on to other, less dire news. Chapter 6 of Hired Gun is well on its way and, barring the intervention of shiny objects that need to be stared at, should be out by the end of the week.

It is a joke, and Poultry's hatred of HiE stories is an old joke in itself. One that many people seem to have forgotten.
Speaking of the alleged HiE ban, does Megan get a pass, or are we banning G1 crossovers now, too?
I hope it's a joke, if not the story I've been working on won't even be allowed on the site.

April Fool's jokes should NEVER say that they're not jokes. It's just bad taste, because you're already making a joke, but then saying the joke isn't a joke, on a day when jokes are all jokes... Pinkie logic FTW.
But no kidding, if this ISN'T a joke, I feel like it's a very bad decision. A lot of my favorite stories would never have been allowed, and that's a shame. Yes, a lot of crap comes from human crossovers, but a lot of crap comes from non-humanized fics too.
I have a story planned that is a crossover with an existing universe that happens to have humans in it. Most of the story focuses on ponies and another species, with a human or two thrown in later in the plot. It doesn't go with any of the humanized-fic cliches that this "ban" would seemingly be targeting, and the human in question is important to the story. I would have two options if I wanted to post it. First, remove the human. It would destroy the story. Second, turn the human into a pony - and I saw at one point someone surmised that it would only be allowed IF the human was a pony from the start, so I would have to pull a "suddenly, a wild pony appeared" and then try to explain the transformation without showing any of it during the event. Also would destroy the story, and having the humans become ponies would also destroy the story and make it cliche. However you look at it, it would make the story worse by forcing me to fit it into the mold that the rule creates.
You think the stories right now are crap? Wait until they all start trying to fit into the mold. We're going to lose a huge amount of the diversity that gives us all the amazing stories we have.

There are several reasons nobody likes Poultron. I almost commented on the blog, "So this is what Nazi Germany must have felt like," but felt that one poor joke didn't deserve another.
As for Hired Gun, you had better not be joking.

I just posted the ponified opening scene of Reservoir Dogs on my blog instead of a joke. You wanna know what Like a Virgin Becoming Popular (The Pony Everypony Should Know) is about? Because it's funny, but not as funny as the original scene IMO.
Like me & Timelord have been mentioning on the site blogs, Poultron will most likely continue on until the end of April 2nd for whatever reason. In-fact seeing as he seems to live in a very belated part of America he is most likely still in the 1st of April for up to 10 more hours.
Please just hold firm and be patient, I would recommend just trying to ignore Poultrons antics for the next TWO days as this is the kind of thing Poultron does.
Personally I really don't think they see or care about the damage they are currently doing to their userbase by continuing the joke on, even going as far as to say part of the joke is real (When I can tell you that from a developers perspective the 'testing' they are doing is useless).
I only hope they stop doing this AND I still fully believe that this is either the worst April Fools 'Prank' ever or the suicide of FiMFiction.

While agree it was in poor taste it is 100% a April fools joke. I mean come on, not allowing human cross overs on FiMfiction would be like Sony making the PS4 not backwards compatible and that would never happen... right?

Bit late to the party, but I've got to say: You'd think that people would have learned no to trust anything on the internet on April Fools day, and for that matter, the day after as well.
I disagree. This pissed me off a fair bit when I was trying to read recent story updates (from before April the first, mind you), and couldn't tell why OCs were being used, when really they weren't. It directly interfered with my reading and that isn't funny, just downright annoying, especially for those who have have no knowledge of previous generations.
The little prank this year was quite obviously just that. A prank. There's no rational reason for any of the admins to remove all of those good stories and cut out a huge chunk of his user base, for which I'm pretty sure Knighty himself is a part of.
