Chapter 10 Update · 5:39pm Mar 30th, 2013
Well, chapter 10 is moving right along. Right now the chapter is sitting at about 22.5k words and is deep in edits. I need to add one or two small scenes, nothing major and so far no rewrites. My editors have been plugging along pretty much on their usual schedule. I'm thinking I'll need, maybe, another week of edits. I'm hoping to have it out sometime before next weekend but that's always up in the air.
For those of you that have finished chapter 9, I'm sure you can guess how this chapter will go. It's gonna be dark and I'm warning you about it here. Another thing about 10 is that it's been split in half. My original ideas for the chapter ran extremely long, and I don't want to end up writing marathon chapters of insanity length. I figured two chapters in the 20-25k range are better than making one giant 50k chapter. I found a good point within my plot arc and cut it there. This means the chapter will be out sooner rather than later, and you get an extra chapter in a month or so after! So far nothing's been cut, I just needed to split it to keep from grimdarking every reader ad nauseum.
