To Love a Pony Chapter 5 · 2:21am Mar 20th, 2013
I know everyone's antsy, and fret not, I've seen the occasional post asking when the new chapter is expected. It's taking a lot more work than I thought it might. There's a lot of stuff that goes in to an actual first contact and I'm throwing it all in. Currently the chapter is sitting at around 26k words, and I've probably deleted 3 or 4 thousand over the course of writing it. I know, I know. That's a massive chapter by anyone's standards. I don't have a definite timeframe (sorry!), but I plan to release it in two parts over a couple of days so that you all aren't swamped with trying to figure out how to sit down and read everything all at once. Unfortunately I don't really want to take the time to make the split and edit the first half because I have so little time to write more as is.
Work sucks after all... I used to use the last hour of the day to get some writing done, but business has really picked up, and long before peak season. School hasn't been helping either. But, I do have something fun to share. My last class was a 3D modeling and texturing one, and I took full advantage of it. In fact I did a lot more than was called for.
Tada! 3D Etherea at a party in Canterlot!
If I can find the time I can eventually animate her. That may wait for a future class though.
What? You don't care and I should just go back to writing for your entertainment?! Awwwww... Ok...
By all means, take as much time as you need to flesh out the chapter. I'd rather wait for a while for a better developed product than one pumped out at low quality.
-Swirls wine like a boss-
O.o wow i like my chapters long makes it worth that much more worth the wait!
3D class i can go for short animation segments :P entertaining to watch xP. (Sits and waits ever so patiently)
Oh, my...now that's a hefty chapter indeed. I'll admit, as much as I love a long chapter, splitting that up into two (or even more) might not be such a bad idea, though. I ended up having to do that with my own story after an esteemed fellow author pointed out that it was on the wordy side.
Still, it'll be good to see more of this one. Take as much time as you need getting it ready for public consumption.
Perhaps a bit late, but good to see you're still writing this. I personally really enjoy this story, so looking forward to future chapters
