Those of you who follow Equestria Daily regularly will probably have seen the post about a new toy (I think) of a pony called Sunset Shimmer. Now on the back of the box it says that she used to be Princess Celestia's apprentice.
Weirdly she even kind've looks like I imagined Breaking Dawn, certainly the same sort of colour coat.
So my question is, should I change Dawn's name to Sunset Shimmer? I don't have to, because as I understand it the AU tag protects me from the need to be 100% canon consistent (though in fact the reason I tagged it AU was because canon always seemed to strongly suggest that Celestia had no personal students before Twilight), but I wondered if any of you, the readers had an opinion on the matter.
I'll probably leave it as it is unless I get a strong reaction otherwise.
