Octavia fights rocks with a cello while living through that trippy last third of 2001: A Space Odyssey if it were painted industrial, before going on vacation.
Hmm... I sense an epic...
Okay, so as far as I can guess, Octavia gets a letter from Vinyl, or concerning Vinyl, and go on an epic adventure to rectify what she feels is wrong? I am most likely wrong in some regard, but I like guessing

Population pressure - and the stress of modern life - could cause an increase in violent tendencies. The urban environment is the incubator for all sorts of undesirable behaviors. However much his atrocities disgust us, he may actually consider himself a hero. This is common among those who use the urban slang "Going Postal". In his tortured mind, he may feel that __________ a most impossible art. It is not unusual for such individuals to believe they can turn the fate of the world; and in the end, are said to display all the causing symptoms of paranoid delusion. We may never know exactly what set him off but... rest assured we will have plenty of time to study him.

I'm gonna say a compelling mystery story involving letters from Vinyl with no right to exist that lead the main character (Octavia) on an epic journey across the old world leading into a surrealistic nightmare world with no anchors save for some nonsense involving the universal importance of music before degenerating into a near endless succession of pointless philosophical diatribes in an attempt to convey her deteriorating mental state.
And the ending will make the entire journey pointless because some diablos ex machina bullshit pops out of nowhere and says victory was always impossible.
If I have any of this right, I need to book myself in for a minor lobotomy aimed directly into my cynicism, or at least into the part of my brain still actually expecting EOP to update.

...well, I'm going to read it, but I'll be really sad and mopey.
I mapped out a story in my head and it was awesome. I will steal your lungs if you don't do this.
Judging by the pictures (and title) my best guess as to what the story will be about is that: Someway or another, Vinyl Scratch is dead and Octavia is sad. She has to go on some type of journey and she starts researching ancient books... (Possibly for resurrection spells or other black magic?) She discovers a way to go into Tartarus and she must have and epic (and apparently very trippy) fight in order to save her best friend (or lover of there is shipping involve :P)... Some pictures may be irrelevant in order to throw us off. For instance, the last one clearly depicts a happy ending when we all know that a true skirts fic doesn't end happily ever after...
Looks pretty sweet. Judging by the end picture, hopefully there is some light at the end of the tunnel?

Upon reading the previous comments, I am compelled to attempt to guess the general storyline.
The main Protagonist (seemingly being Tavi here) receives a message [from Vinyl (in the past?) / main protagonist / lost heritage] which begins a long and lonesome travel to [places of old / historical significance] were she [finds / stumbles upon] a significant artefact which [is stolen / will require further research].
Upon travelling to the [nearest / greatest] source of historical information, Tavi finds an old tome of significance to her [quest / artefact]. Discovering the area in which [links to Vinyl / ancestry / protagonist / artefact] is located, she travels to aforementioned location. Arriving and letting events play out in great detail, provided by Shortskirtsandexplosions here, Vinyl is [struck down / injured]. [Unnatural weather phenomena / shitstorm / world weeps at tragedy] begins to brew.
Dump kittens in trash. Nuff said...
Tavi mourns [Vinyl's passing / trashed kittens (
)] and vows to [avenge / revive]
Tavi finds the natural opening to an underground labyrinth, in which she breaks [her instrument / a part of herself]. Sacrifices are made to operate and open the gates to Tartarus. (Which is secretly Black Mesa!!!
)
Upon entering the complex, she is assaulted with many a differing environment than the norm and faces trials, both physical and mental. Towards the end of this adventure, she [descends into insanity / travels trough time and space / ascends to God status]. All of which ends up with a happy or bitter-sweet ending.
Upon reading my own comment... what a load of.... template, yeah. That's what is was going to say...
I really want to guess what the storyline is...but I'm always wrong with these things, so I'll just sit on it and wait. (Though I am trying to figure out how depressing the ending will be just by the sheer volume of unhappiness in those pictures.
)
I can't wait for another SS&E story though! I'll be patient, I promise.
Also, no kitten sadness, pretty please?... ...I love kitties....
(Or does this imply that Vinyl/Octavia was abandoned?)
Hopefully this won't be taking the full likeness of Background Pony, even though that wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing. I'm definitely be looking forward to this. I've pretty much given up all FiMFiction except for you, Skirts, so I'm sure you won't disappoint. :x
