RIP, Young Justice · 8:04am Mar 18th, 2013
Sigh.
Well, I don't really know what to say. I've gone on long-winded rants about how great the show was--hell, I've honestly compared it to Game of Thrones--and now I've seen the final episode. It's done.
Sigh.
Being as this here's a pony site, I don't feel it entirely appropriate to spend the entire post writing exclusively about Young Justice. But there's actually something that both YJ's series finale and FiM's seasonal one had in common: they both really should've been two-parters. Both shows tried to cram in way too much stuff into a single 22 minute chunk of airtime, and I've got to wonder why. Surely, the folks making the shows knew that the stories' pacing would suffer for it. So what's going on? Is there some kind of new, industry-wide bias about giving shows enough room to breathe? Did Stephen Moffat spread some kind of standalone episode plague?
(Yes, as with most things in my life, this inevitably came back to my disappointment with the last few seasons of Doctor Who.)
Anyway. There are things to be discussed in that episode, plot-wise, but what's the point? There's not going to be a third season. Oh, maybe once Teen Titans GO! goes and Yet Another Batman Cartoon gets axed after failing to live up to The Animated Series, there'll be another team-focused show with epic stories and big action. But it won't be a continuation of Young Justice; it won't pick up on its momentum, on its characterizations, or on its overarching plot. It'll be something new, and maybe it'll be good--even great--but it won't be Young Justice. Young Justice is gone.
Sigh.
Okay, moving on. Let's find something less depressing to talk about. Hey, there's a new chapter of The Life and Times of a Winning Pony! How'd the last chapter end, again? Oh, with the... and the...
... Okay, well, maybe this chapter will be less depressing! Let's go see!

... So I'm going to be over in the corner, rocking back and forth for awhile. Here's a video.

Don't worry, man, I'm sure you'll find something else to watch. Besides, they might even continue Young Justice as a comic like those other shows that were cancelled before their time. I'm looking at you, Samurai Jack! *shakes fist angrily*
I hear you brother, its saddening to see the fall of a such great cartoons. Indeed I hope that these two new cartoons gets axed so that the old programs would come back, but now we have to wait...and see
Sorry to hear, it sucks when a great show is canned. Damn shame.
It wasn't that great of a show anyway. A 5/10 at best.
